Open and closed loop

Long story short bought a 2g awd shell swapped my 1g motor in and did a first start today.

A buddy and myself were using link v2 and logged my first start. It is idle surging, which I will need to fix, but it is also switching between open and closed loop every couple of seconds. I was wondering if any of you have ever dealt with this issue before?

Im just trying to get it back on the road so any help is appreciated!

Maybe try turning on all DTC options and see if it throws a code for something?

It is looking like the idle surge is what is causing the switch between open and closed loop. Time to fix some air leaks!

Yep, It's not going to stay in closed loop while it's also cutting off the fuel injectors.

It actually ended up being that the throttle cable was not allowing the throttle plate to fully close.

Let me guess you're simulating the IPS so the ECU thinks the throttle is closed but the cable was holding it open.

Yeah the idle switch is being simulated by Link.
