I'm assuming I'll be fine however just want to make sure, I know it'll probably run shittier but I'm about to finally finish my car and need to reflange my downpipe to get it to bolt up to my new o2 housing.

Is there any issues that could surface from driving with no exhaust for 2 miles? I need to simply get to my friend's work so he can reflange my downpipe for me. This may be a stupid question but I've never had to run my car like this. The car will have nothing after the o2 housing, exhaust will be dumping straight out - no downpipe or anything.

I turned mine on with just a downpipe and it was retarted loud, i cant imagine nothing at all.
Besides it might run like shiz since the o2 sensor would not be on.
Its doable, but not recommend it.

If you are only driving to your friends work so he can flange your downpipe, then nothing is going to happen. As long as you aren't driving this way for a long time. I had two NA's with no exhaust. Open headers. Drove well over 6 months like this. Not really any differences that I noticed besides sounding like crap and realllly loud. Although, all the times I was pulled over, they didn't say anything about it. They were too worried about my license plate light being out. They are great at what they do aren't they?

I don't care about how loud it is. I really don't. It's going to be driven up my street, onto the 'main road' of the town, down the road about a mile and pulled into my buddy's work so he can convert my 3bolt downpipe to 2bolt and then bolt it up.

I'd just take the downpipe off but the downpipe is part of the exhaust itself and would require me to remove the entire exhaust which I really don't want to do. I'd like to just get a whole new exhaust but its out of my budget and I do like my true 3" inlet/outlet downpipe

I would just make sure it wouldnt get to any thing. Never know if it'll get to hot and burn something you dont want.
Who knows, just a pre-caution i would take.

I would assume you at least want to have a side exit. Just removing the downpipe would just put the exhaust back into the intake wouldnt it?

If you remove the DP im pretty sure its just venting out to no where? I could be wrong though, but I think its just dumping into the air.

I don't know that it would be "ok" but if it were and only if it were I would at least have a downpipe or cut out. You car comes stock tuned to run exhaust (of some sort). It may sound cool and all. But IMHO your better off not running complete open dump. I had my DP come unbolted on me check the video

Didnt completely read your post, sorry. You should be alright for 2 miles. And of course itll run like poo but I think youll be alright. I would do it. Heck i drove through town and to my house with what I thought was an exhaust leak. A.K.A DP coming unbolted

Well I think he'll be fine if he's only going 2 Miles.

AHHH!! You posted before i could correct my post

The exhaust gasses will be hot. It would be best if you could at least get the exhaust below the level of the alternator.
you can drive it. Just wont have alot of get up and go because of there not being any backpressure so you wont be moving very fast. Plus itll be stupid load
It's a turbocharged car. The best exhaust for a turbocharged car would be nothing after the turbine exit.

The o2 sensor should still be in the o2 housing. Plus 1g's don't have a rear o2 sensor.

You'll be fine, I made it 13miles to my work to put an exhaust on mine. Just stay out of boost (keep egts down).

FYI. My 16g w3/in exhaust flows enough that the wastegate cant regulate it to stock pressure, or under 20psi actually,so I bet it would be worse w/ an open o2 housing. Don't cream over the turbo diesel sound and over boost it!
