Had r-sport in fort myers replace all my bypass hoses and pretty much EVERY freaking hose under the hood except the bypass...the car has been having leaking issues and they didn't think to maybe look into it and fix it like Ive told them a million times? aaaanyways so i brought it to them they said the oil filter plate was loose he said "i don't know why but on these mitsubishi's it's very common that they come loose and leak right where the oil filter screws in" so he "tightened" it for me...still leaking over in that area, approximately 1 drip per hour when hot. Still can't figure out why, any ideas?

ZOINKS! never go to r-sport....thats r-sport in ft myers right on 41 next to the burger king in ft myers florida...rsport.com...do NOT go to them...they said its ok to have oil in my coolant, they said itll burn off, they said its good to have above normal high oil psi, they said i was getting cometic headgasket and arp studs when it was all felpro performance. hell my car went back to them 6 times before they got it right, and its STILL leaking oil they could see any problems? wtf? Hopefully someone on here will have an idea where it may be leaking.

Pm me your number. Maybe you can come over my house and i can have that leak inspected and fixed for ya. Just invite me to a mc.donalds :).

Well i dont have a lift either just a jack and a couple jack stands, you shouldnt work up to big of a sweat just looking LOL, but mine was the return from the turbo to the oil pan, you'll see it. It started as a small drip then broke and poured oil out.

Damn man that sucks. Where its dripping on mine is the plate that the oil filter screws on to, that's where its dripping off of so something over that must be leaking, its definitely not the oil filter too loose i'm sure of that.

thats the oil cooler plate, pop off the oil filter, look at where the filter screws on, you will see a built in hex head on that, unscrew it, there is a rubber O ringthat fits between the cooler and the block, that is probly just old and cracked, replace that and see if that fixes your leak.

its not coming out of the oil filter itself around the filter gasket. the oil cooler plate just happens to be whatever oil leak there is, is landing on.

I understand that it is not the filter, but between the plate and the block

I agree with him. Common place for them to leak. Once you take the filter off there's the bolt that the filter screws onto. Unthread it and the part where the coolant goes through will come off and there is an o-ring that seals it to the oil filter housing. Its orange and looks a lot like an oil filter gasket.

When you to go reassemble torque the bolt to spec. Don't overtighten it or you'll crack the cooler part and you'll have oil in your coolant.

my oil filter connects to the block? is that how gs-t's are? I might have a filter relocation kit then? mine doesnt screw on to the block like my other cars, btw when i brought it in to have them fix the leak they tightened that thing inside the filter plate your talking about. Probably didn't check the gasket though, they effing SUCK.

No your filter doesn't connect to the block directly. It screws on to the threaded piece that's inside the filter plate. That plate connects to the oil filter housing, that bolts to the block. If they tightened down that screw too tight its possible it is now cracked. Depending of course if it was actually loose or not.
