Oil Ring Position

On the oil ring, does it matter which way it's installed? Whether the two ends point up or down?

IE: _/\_ or down like this -\/-

Does one way work better than the other?

no it dosnt matter, that is a waved spacer ring, and makes no contact with the cylinder wall at all.

I normally place the gap of the spacer in the center line of the wrist pin, then one oil scraper ring about 40*-60* to the left of the wrist pin and the other the same the other side of the wrist pin.

then in stall your compression rings and place the gaps 180* apart

make sure you place the rings on the right way, and check your ring gaps
