3mm oil control ring?

Ive been reading on the forums here that the 95' 4g63 pistons use a 3mm oil ring?

I have a 95' GST, I ordered a set of Hastings rings that were supposed to cover 95-99.

Theres too much history to cover with this car, but to make a long story short... The car has been burning a quart of oil every 300 miles since i got it 2 years ago. I blew a water hose and overheated it warping the head. I had the head rebuilt and put it back on the car with a mls head gasket (oops, 1st mistake)...

Even after the head rebuild the car still burned 1 quart per 300 miles. Plus the metal head gasket leaked air into the cooling system.

Ok so now I have the car apart again. This time im changing the rings since Im sure they are what caused the car to burn so much oil, but after reading about a 3mm oil control ring for 95' verses a 2.8mm for 96-99 im worried i got the wrong ring set

I ordered this set from DSM Graveyard. It says they are for ALL 95'-99' turbos...

Use a feeler gauge to measure the side clearence on the piston ring then check to see if its within factory specs. This would be the best way to check the thickness of a ring when its on the piston itself. Also cross reference the part numbers on the packaging
