oil filter ring blow off

Can anybody give me an idea why 2 different oil filters (Fram and NAPA) have blown their rubber seal and left a huge puddle of oil in my driveway? Oil press was around 100, revved up, and poof! oil spill like the Exxon Valdez. This is on a 6bolt 2.3 stroker, with a 90 oil filter housing and a 2g filter.

Did you do the BS elimination? If so: did you port the relief valve?

you didnt by chance forget to check for the old oil filter seal stuck to the housing? Funny a friend just called about 30 minutes ago with the same issue, and he forgot the seal on the housing.

Pretty sure it's a clear housing. I did do the balance shaft removal, what's this porting of relief valve about? I haven't heard of that.

With the 90 oil filter adapter did you hook up the oil cooler or plug the holes?
