Resolved OFH AN Fittings

Forgive the noob question, but should AN fittings in this location have o-rings or crush washers like pictured? No idea why these are here, but thought there should be o-rings.

If I recall those were originally banjo bolts OEM so they would've used crush washers.

Like Paul mentioned above, those are originally banjo bolts with bonded seal washers. So normally when you go with AN fittings, you use crush washers.

Tapered thread seals by the slight deformation of the thread, so no washer or o-ring needed on those.

I haven't used one of those housings in a long time. I thought the bspt was on the sensors? Aren't those banjos originally?

Agree with what you said. but sorry totally no offence, that port has M16x1.5 straight thread and the fitting is a AN to metric, so I think it should have a crush washer.

Sorry guys, I was thinking those were BSPT ports. It's been a LONG time since I plumbed one of those. Thanks for the correction. I'll remove my original post as to not spread any misinformation.

I jut got a JMFab rail, and received my fittings today that screw into the ends. O-ring or crush washer? I'm new to the AN hardware sonI want to do this properly the first time.

Go with crush washers for the oil cooler fittings. If you use o-rings for that, you would possibly break-off the o-rings when you tighten the fittings.
As for the fuel rail, I don't know what thread the JMF rail has but I assume it's ORB. If so, you need to use a o-ring between the rail and the fitting.

Jmf fuel rail is 10 orb. I just got one for Christmas from the wife.

I went back to ExtremePSi's website and checked. Got a couple o-rings on the fittings and they fit perfect. Will get new crush washers for the OFH fittings. Thanks everyone.

Recessed ports are ORB's or o ring boss and flat surfaces are for crush washers with alloy or copper.

The component the crush washer or o-ring is attempting to mate to should be designed with the crush washer or o-ring in mind. You shouldn't really try to seal with an o-ring unless there's provision for that o-ring on the mating side.
