I assume the 12's would have to be on top of the cover as it doesn't look like there is enough material on the side for it to fit.

You just have to angel them toward the hood. Then they fit fine. I went with -12 and its overkill. If I were to do it, again I would do -10

these are the only pics i have on my work computer.

Me too! And which vendor would you order them from? I also want to build my set-up but I am kind of confused on which size and who to buy them from. Sorry, not trying to threadjack.

STM ALUMINUM VALVE COVER -AN FITTING | 90-99 DSM
I think these are a pretty good idea. I wish the would make them in a bigger size though.

While those pieces might be nice for someone who's just trying to bling up the engine bay, these fittings will not yield a better flowing PCV system because youre still stuck with the same inside diameter fittings and hoses.

Everyone with questions regarding catch can setups and AN fittings on your valve cover should read this entirely: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/366890-4g63t-pcv-system.html

And then, check these out, and read everything on the page and youll be able to determine which configuration best suits your needs. I think theyre the best cans you can get, designed by one of our own members with a great deal of R&D into their development:Custom Fabricated DSM Parts

Those fitting should be sufficient for most of the DSM community. The link you posted above about PCV system by Calan talks about crank pressure with a 2.3l motor at 8.8 compression yielding .6 psi of positive pressure. -8AN lines are perfect for that set up, most can get away with -6AN lines.

Personally, I am with you and wouldnt use those fittings. If you are not welding, I would thread the hose with a NPT tap, so you can switch sizes if need be.

Yes increase hose size will remove more pressure, but the question is how much pressure is developing in your crank case? Then you can determine what size lines will benefit you.

I also run a Calan catchcan, but I am running barb fitting with 5/16 hose and that is sufficient for my set up.

So far I've picked out -8 an weld in bungs (male) for valve cover, -8 an female pushlocks for hose side and jegs 8 an braided hose. Sound plausible?
