Well, unfortunately, rock auto got it wrong.

These are not the rear calipers compatible with vented disc for a 95 GSX.

The castings are inconsistently different left to right, but most important the gap for the rotor is too narrow.

I need a set of refurbished/rebuilt calipers like - yesterday. Anyone got a source?

Looking st that it does not match the centric caliper or cross over but i only had a quick check. I can spend a bit more time checking later on it

Thanks for checking. The description on the ones I ordered says “vented rotor” . I’ll look at the other part. Is there phone number for Rockauto? I can’t seem to find it on their website.

I believe I have a set of OEM used ones laying around. But they would need rebuilt if you're interested.
Thanks - I am looking for ready to install parts. I could rebuild the set I have if I had more time.

so your Cardone is showing also via DSMtuners as the correct one but i don't see the specs listing it so on that I'm not sure why its not correct then. can try the centrics if they are better but they list those and FVP as another brand but not in stock. so on this i don't know the best suggestion

You have to email them, no phone number. They do usually get back in a timely manner.

Also I see parts stores list these as 1994 calipers. The 18b4666 is what O'Reilly lists for the rear left when looking at a 1994 talon. Check your local store for stock of 1994 rear calipers and look at them. Might be what you need.

Heh - they sent the wrong parts in the boxes - again.

All this could be avoided if the telephone worked…

Side note, for anyone with the proper calipers, I have a brand new set of these rotors, never used been sitting on for about 15 years LOL.

Can you confirm the Mitsubishi part number for the left and right rear vented rotor calipers?

Rock Auto is asking for pictures and part numbers, so now I'm going to give them the works.

I picked up the rotors in a lot of parts a guy was getting rid of after getting out of the DSM game. They were brand new in box but I was never able to source calipers for them and now that my car is drag only I don't want these heavy brakes on my car.

I'll take the rotors off your hands - I'm sticking with the OEM rear vented setup. It's good for my application.

PM me

I sent customer service the following - le me know if there are any errors in the data:

Hi Kristen;

This is the second time the wrong part was packaged in the boxes. I think there is a systemic issue that needs manual intervention.

For Mitsubishi-Eclipse/Eagle-Talon Model year 1995 - the AWD (turbo GSX) with October 94 manufacturing dates came with 3/4” thick vented rear rotors, and calipers wide enough to accommodate.

The rotors and calipers for the FWD, and AWD of later manufacturing dates are a lower performance thinner solid disk rotor with a narrower caliper. I have twice received the wrong and more common narrower calipers.

VIN:
4A3AL54F6SE090538

OEM part numbers:
OEM: MB950197 & MB950198
reman'd #'s are now RMB950197 & MB950198

RockAuto part numbers for reference:
Ordered:
CARDONE 18B4666
CARDONE 18B4667

These RockAuto part numbers should reference the same part:
CENTRIC 14146535
CENTRIC 14146536

The issue I have with the online ordering system is they hit or miss on the manufacturing date of the year car. If you put a specific brand/part into the search - for Autozone - you can find the part, but not if you filter by vehicle.

AutoZone:
Duralast Disc Brake Caliper 18-B4667
Duralast Disc Brake Caliper 18-B4666

If you use an online system like Rockauto - you can select the correct part - but they won't ship you the correct part. It's far worse to deal with Rockauto who will be happy to take the parts back, but they won't spend any time fixing the order or fixing their system.

These look right so far!

What was the part number for those or were those the autozone ones?

They are basically the same part number as CARDONE and the castings look like mitsu castings:
