2G OBX FWD LSD speed sensor help !

Hi guys, i need help, i bought OBX FWD LSD and when i tear the transmission, i figured out on the LSD missing helical ring for speed sensor. On stock diff is casted with the case, but on LSD is place to put the ring on … but here is few problems - i have measured dimensions, but dont know what material i can use with transmission fluid… and i dont know where to get it … i searched on ebay, amazon… and found just rings for hondas … i seen here in threads somebody, who had maybe plastic piece or something similar…

i wrote to seller, which sell the simmilar diff with a removable metal ring, but he cannot sold it separatelly …

Any thoughts ? It helps me alot

OBX copied the design of the Quaife LSD in many instances, they certainly did it for the T-350 transmission found in the 420A cars, which uses an OEM speedometer gear. OBX wouldn’t make a differential with a proprietary speedometer gear, so something else that is common is intended. I believe the gear you show above is a direct replacement for the discontinued OEM gear (MD717879) on all OEM differentials for the F5M33/W5M33, which was also made out of metal. The material of the gear does not affect the fluid that you use, it is only for longevity of the part. Since it is correct for the OEM and Quaife differentials, the aftermarket MD717879 appears to be the correct (and only) option for the OBX.

If you are 2g fwd non-turbo with the Mopar based T350 transmission using a plastic speedo gear, just remove the bearing and remove speedo gear, then grind the square tabs to rounded tabs to fit onto the OBX diff, and install it, then press on the proper bearing and install the diff in the transmission.

The MD717879 speedo gear I have manufactured was not designed originally for the OBX diff, it is for the F5M/W5M based mitsubishi transmissions using typically Quaife, KAAZ and Cusco front diffs. I can provide measurements of my part if you like. Please measure the OD of the OBX diff where the speedo gear is installed on, as well as the height,, and then measure the ID/OD and thickness of the OEM one on your stock diff.

Please provide further detailed photos of your actual components.

As for the T350 transmission, I do not know if the speedo sensor has the same gear tooth pitch as the F5M33 / W5M33 ones, as mine was a copy of the OEM part.

Problem solved
Friend of mine did one for me with my measurements. He mentioned material is Nylon with glass fiber. So i hope it will be fine. Teeths are deep perfect, angle is perfect, edges are rounded.

They're fine as long as you make sure the gears that the axles slot into are chamfered to enable the clip to slide, and that you replace the Belleville washers inside with pieces that won't break.
