Hi , All! Just a quick question:

Original, stock F5M31 FWD transmission, with stock axles.
(clutch is : XTD stage 3 kevlar, full set, : flywheel, disc, plate )
My car is actually 300 hp.
Boost : 1.3bar. ( only in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear)
( EBC and with DSMLink, calibrated )

Is my stock transmission is strong enough or I have to start earn money for a new one ? ( used of course ).
Thanks in advance.

Interesting, if I read back here at the tranny forums, lots of you wrote the only the F5M33 fits to 95-99 Eclipses.
I don't understand this.

My original 2G EDM, 4G63 N/A eclipse has got a F5M31! I'm still use it. My car is 25 years old, and thank you, she feels good, and my tranny also in a good shape. Never ever had to fix it, or rebuild.

But my first question ( above ) is still live:

Is it strong enough for a 300 hp DSM ?

Hey, sorry that I'm reviving an old thread, but I'm interested in the same thing. Is your transmission still working properly? Thanks in advance!

Hi! Yes, !! My tranny works well!
Its an original, factory stock transmission, it has almost 450.000 km! Yeah, maybe I should think about that, I must get a spare one, but it's in a super condition. :)
So, I'm very satisfied this Mitsubishi product, and hope it will work in the future, for many years. :)
Unfortunately, my XTD stage 3 clutch gone after 20.000 km, so last month I had to change.

Hi!
According to ecmlink program... its about 300hp, and 340Nm. ( 250ft-lbs). I dont think that it is the the max hp and torque,.what it can handle... its just what my config is.
The tranny still works good, now it has 460.000km in it! Still an original, factory made F5M31 transmission, every parts are original inside.
