Ok i checked the search and it looks like you cant take the tranny from a gsx, but is there any way i can make my 420a awd? Maybe taking the tranny from another car? And im not gonna sell mine car for an awd car.

A 2g swap, 420a never heard of it but just do 7 bolt swap into your chassis and work, 2g swaps awd can be done, might be easier to geta a awd car, there is a thread on this for 2g awd swaps not sure about 420 transmisson not that im aware of.

420a block i really dont think of a transmission awd to fit that block not even avengers.

You can't make your 420a powered car AWD with GSX drivetrain parts.

what's so good about your car that you won't sell it to get a clean GSX


If there is a way.. it will be verey very expensive and time consuming.. over 8k in parts and labor. Not worth it.

I do also recall mention of the minivan awd swap. I can not remember were I read it at but some one was trying to do it not on this site but other. try to google minivan 420a swap and see what you can find. I will look and see if I can find it again but it may have been for the 3g eclipse.

I don't know of any transmissions that will work with the 420a for AWD. If you were to swap your car to a 4G63 and AWD you would need to change both your front and rear sub frames. Pretty much you would need a solid GSX donor car with a complete drivetrain from the transmission to the rear end.

I am pretty sure there is a 420a powered neon that came in awd. Something you may want to look into.

everything is possible if you have $$$ lots of it just to do a swap, but its not worth it, you suffer a lot thru it, frustration, etc.. just get an awd, you can probably buy one and keep your car and save you some money, instead of the swap

No I was mistaking. I just searched for one and it doesn't seem to exists. I just swear my buddies mom had one several years ago. Guess I am wrong.

You need the following:

Evo trans.
Custom clutch flywheel combo.
Custom bell housing.
Custom motor mounts.
Custom shift linkage.
Custom center drive shaft.
Gsx donor car for the awd.
Custom front axles.

And bam! Awd neo... Eclipse. Almost slipped there.

If I remember right isn't the 2g automatic a 41TE tranny? If so they made a varient of that for the V-6 minivans with AWD. That might work.

Lot of money and trouble that you could just go out and get a AWD turbo and use extra money saved to go faster.

Would be cool if you had the time and desire to try it.
