1990 Talon Non-Turbo AWD?

Hi all,

Some guy on craigslist is selling a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD Non-Turbo... do those even exist? I thought all 1G AWD had a turbo.

Haha well ive seen it done but. Your right ALL AWD came turbo from factory. but u can take the N/a motor and put it in a AWD no problem.

They did not come from the factory as N/T and AWD but it wouldnt be hard to do considering te N/T and turbo blocks are cosmetically the same. The question is, did he actually pull the motor and put in the N/T motor (9.0:1 compression) or did he remove the turbo, lines and manifold, and just put a N/T manifold on, and leave the turbo short block in with 8.3:1 compression. If he did the latter then performance will be pretty sluggish

I thought so. I'd prefer the 8.3:1 pistons. That way I can just pick up a 16G and it's good to go.

I would look that one over really good if your thinking of purchasing it. Why would you even want to do that conversion? I was thinking maybe they just needed a car and just happened to have a n/t laying around or the turbo took a crap on them so they just left the turbo off. Either way the lack of funds would lead me to believe the car wasn't maintained very well.

I just called the guy and it had an engine swap. It's also an auto and I'm looking for a manual. So.. case closed.
