i'd love to find out a good way to stop it from grinding going into 2nd gear, its only when i power shift and i'm not sure why it does this. can anyone help?

Any by power shifting you mean not using the clutch to shift..Or shifting hard your calling power shift?

Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should....

No seriously, you probably either need to adjust your clutch or you just have 2nd gear synchros that are going out and your transmission could use a rebuild.
