Trying to buy this car and i would like to get your opinion.

Here is the link to the car. I posted this on norcal forums and they were not helpful at all. I also have a 1g None turbo eclipse that i got for $500 and runs good.

Eagle Talon TSI AWD Mod's Galore!!

I talked to the owner about the car and he just bought it 1 month ago. He is selling it do to having to go back to work in San fransico and we all know how bad the city is. Stop and go.

The car has 3000 miles on the rebuild motor, Tranny, 4 Bolt Rear end

He is saying that he has the receipts for the parts from slowboy racing and summit, But he does not have the receipts for the Labor.

The way he describes the car is more than perfect.

The only thing wrong with the car it needs the ISC valve, Passanger side window is slow but he has the parts to fix.

Also he told me that the winshield washer nozzle is off to hook up the AEM meth Controller. Is this the way everyone is doing it?

He seems like a honest person. When i asked him what was the last owners name he said he forgot. That was a month ago.
The tuning shop is around my house and i am going their next day to find out anything i can about the car and the owner....

Help me out guys. He wont go less than $5000..

Also when i look at other engines i see their is some kind of bracket next to timing belt cover. His car is missing. Here is the picture..

The only thing I see that concerns me I he said he swapped dashes, make sure all the vins on the car match up with title. All in all it seems clean, I would not pay 5k for it tho, but that's just me.

The think the bracket your thinking of is the driver side motor mount bracket, it looks similar to the one you srew in the picture..

I am going to pass on it. Plus he does not have any labor receipt. That is the most important part of the deal.

He asked this to the local Bay Area guys where this car is located. Where everything is more expensive here, so is our estimates on DSMs. To many over in this part, that is a cleanly done vehicle and is priced competitively.

The OP seems to want several reassurances, because it looks like the many he already got from the locals were not good enough.

If you have any friends into DSMs, take them with you to check out the car.

If you are nervous, then don't get a modded DSM.

+1, when i was a newb i bought a modded 2g, the guy had receipts and all. One month after trying to figure out what was wrong with it i found out the so called "rebuilt" motor had crankwalked.

If you want a DSM get one that is completely stock, if there is still any out there.

That there is a 7 bolt mount! Good luck with it walking unless it was built by Jack!
Just my 2 cents bro. . . . .
