I've read through almost all of the start issue threads on here and nothing has helped me so far. I'm looking for some answers and hope someone can help me out. I've tried everything short of the starter relay because it's dark and i really dont know where the starter relay is to bypass the anti-theft and clutch switch. however i did unplug the clutch switch so i doubt doing the relay mod will help. i replaced my clutch master cylinder, tried to start the car when i was done and just got a click from the starter. pulled the starter and replaced it with a new, tested good, starter. put the starter in and same thing. just a click when i turn the key. any different ideas as to what could be causing this?

i was droppin deuce just a minute ago and thought it might be the alternator. Battery is good so that shouldnt be the problem. All lights, radio, electric seat, etc. work but all i get is a click at the turn of the key.

Make sure your battery is good and fully charged and make sure it has a good connection at both terminals. Nine times out of ten if you have a starter that just clicks and it is a known good starter, then the battery is bad/weak or there is a bad connection at the battery or the starter itself.

and you know for certain that battery is fully charged. It could have enough juice to run all the acessories, but a starter takes alot of power. Its strong enough to move your car if you left it in gear. A "AA" battery has enough power to power and LED flashlight, its not going to power up a spotlight at all.

im positive the battery is charged. i tried jumping the car because at first i thought the battery was dead. the attempt to jump the car yielded the same results, just a click at the turn of the key. battery is an optima red top btw.

This started after a clutch master cyl replacement. Battery was out of the car master cyl was replaced. everything was hooked back up and no start just click.. Then starter was replaced with same end result. Does not appear to be bad ground.. Car started before the master cyl was replaced...

thanks for the post dru...and just for the record, dru knows his way around a DSM. His gf has one and they've had that thing apart more times than i can count and he has been helping me diagnose this along the way and we're both stumped.
