2G No ECU installed - Will something die if I turn the Key On?

Just like the title says - If there is no ECU plugged in, will something get damaged if I turn the key on?

It'd be just like pulling the MPI fuse or like the ECU was dead due to leaky capacitors. It's not an issue, it just won't do anything interesting which sounds like what you're going for.

Just a sanity check - I've got other work in progress that needs power to test.

As long as whatever your testing isn't powered by the MPI circuit this should work fine. Nothing will be damaged by not having an ECU installed but as you can guess many things aren't going to work.
