No crank; starter / solenoid issue?

Now i know installing a MBC isnt my problem, or has ANYTHING to do with the car starting, but maybe something i did hit something or messed up something else..I did unplug the maft.

The car wont start. The starter doesnt even attempt to spin when turning the key, as if i dont have a starter installed. the battery is good (and connected to a booster pack) The fuel pump turns on, everything is normal.

Anyone have any ideas, or can point me in the right direction? Im stumped.

Any check engine lights? Fuses?

My guess is It's just a coincidence. I can't think of anything you could have bumped while installing a mbc that would cause your car to not start. A couple things to check would be the starter relay or your clutch switch. Good luck

i have the clutch switch unplugged, and i couldnt find where to plug it back in to test if that somehow has something to do with it.

where is the relay?

I was having the worst day working on the DSM today, and to top it off i had to stop mid way and work on a stupid Viper...horrible.

This happen to me yet again the past two times its been the starter relay (behind the radio btw) but I swapped it out again and now it still won't start, even tried the relay jumper mod. Battery is good and so is all the fuses so I'm guessing my starter just went out of nowhere

Well, i jacked the car up and played with the wiring going to the starter...then it cranked right up.

I guess im goign to TRY and take it out, make sure all the connections are good and clean, and go from there!

When a local DSMer and I were installing an engine I had just rebuilt into his car a couple summers ago, we were attempting to roll the engine over using the starter to prime the system and we got nothing. All the lights turned on, but absolutely no attempt to roll the engine from the starter.

After an hour or so of searching we found out that he loosened the wires going to the starter when he removed the engine (thinking the starter was going to come out with the engine) even though all he did was remove the starter from the bell housing and lay it to the side. The wires were not removed, so they were overlooked when doing a visual inspection...but the nuts were just finger-tight.

A loose connection at the starter can definitely ruin your day.

Resolved my issue as well....bad starter (probably the original). So just for kicks I put back in the old relay as well and still fired right up. I am now back to happy dsm mode
