2G No ABS fuse in confirmed ABS car.

I have confirmed my car is supposed to have ABS. It has the hardware under the driver’s side fender, ABS axles, sensors at the wheels, and I have the original window sticker which shows it was originally an ABS equipped car. But the fuse box has no fuse or prongs for the ABS fuse. I separated the fuse box halves and there are no loose wires tucked inside, nor can I see any evidence of cut wires. I didn’t get into peeling back any tape from the harness though. The only scenarios I can imagine is that the fuse box harness has been replaced at some point, or someone made a poor attempt at deleting the abs. Previous owner said he looked into it as well because the ABS light was always on but was also baffled by there being no prongs in the ABS slot, he posted it on the Facebook forum, and everyone told him it was just a non-ABS car. He was the 5th owner and bought the car completely stock with the exception of wheels.

Looking for more insight as to what else could have happened, or what else to look for. What colors would the wires running to the fuse be? If someone were trying to delete it, would there be any good way to restore ABS aside from replacing the harness? I have no problem replacing the harness, but finding an uncut one is getting difficult. I’m trying to keep the car as original as possible so I’m not interested in deleting ABS.

I am not 100% sure for a talon with abs but my own 97 gsx was a factory ABS car. Does your's have the large plug that would go to the stock ABS "pump"? This is in the driver front wheel well and connected to it. When i deleted mine i also had a module inside the car on pass side front firewall/floor board area that was the computer for the abs i think. Has been many years so trying to remember.

It's a bit of a cluster and translating the FSMs is my best interpretation. From what I can see, that fuse was only used in AWD, pre-1998 models. In the Talon, it was only in models made for the Canadian market.

Here’s the diagram for dedicated fuses. Notice the remarks at the bottom right. This is a 1997 Talon FSM; confirmed the same with the 1997 Eclipse FSM.

Here’s where the fuse is shown in the circuit diagram, between fusible link 8 and the ABS Power Relay.

Here’s the location of the ABS power relay (B-80). I’d imagine if you don’t have the ABS power relay there, you don’t need the 10A fuse.

So you’re saying 98 and 99 US models didn’t have a fuse in that location? And that the fuse is somewhere in line before the abs power relay? Or are all 3 images from the 98 FSM?

There was a similar thread recently that I provided screenshots from the 1998 Eclipse FSM, granted for FWD, but if I recall correctly, the AWD did not show the fuse there either. Here: ABS Computer Location
