My car right now is not as fast as i want it to be but i dont wanna spend money on little things with little gains so i thinking about nitrous. I'm told that i will need a racing clutch in order to use the nitrous, but that is not a cheap part or cheap labor so my question is do i need a new clutch or can my factory clutch handle nitrous?...zex more specifically if it means anything

well you already have some supporting mods so sure man go for it why not?don't go oyer 50 shot on the street and leave 75 shot on the track just to be safe.I don't think upgrading the clutch will be necessary but it'll sure as hell be a good mod.

Oh allright, thanks

From what he was saying is that i will need a clutch thats able to handle the power, does anyone have nitrous with a factory clutch??

if hahn can put a bolt on turbo kit and still use a factory clutch, then a 50-75 shot ain't gonna hurt unless you don't know how to shift. don't hit the pretty red button when the clutch is pressed and you'll be fine.

More importantly, practice racing without your foot mashed on the gas. Cause when the zex kit is in thats all it takes to get it going. 1st, 2nd, 3rd (full throttle) but you can figure it out.
FYI, I think your car will perform much better with an upgraded clutch. I got one and noticed the pulling power I had gone up quite significantly. Add nitrous and then watch what happens. You'll be putting that power to the wheels so fast.

So when i shift gears and the clutch is down does it shut off, cause form im reading, using it while the clutch is in is not too smart, so when im off the gas does it shut off?

i had a single point wet kit on my old honda and the lancer i had as well. ran that kit for about 3 years with no problems whatsoever. the answer to your ? about does the n2o shut off when you let off the gas. YES, if it is set up on a full throttle activation switch(the safest way and the way i did it). had a 75 shot on the honda with stock clutch for a while and a 50 shot on the lancer but it was an automatic :barf: . anyways if you do buy a kit have it installed by a pro, even though i did mine myself .

Im running a a NX wet kit, at a 75 shot on the street, on a factory clutch and havent had any slipage issues in 2nd-5th. It does slip a tad bit in 1st gear though....but then again 1st goes by so fast i dont even use nitrous in it anyways. Car has 65K miles on it now btw, original factory clutch.

if hes getting the zex kit like he said, then getting it installed by a pro would be flushing $200-$300. i installed mine myself and had 0 experience with nitrous before hand. ive been running a 75 shot for about 7 months now on the stock clutch and all is well. as far as hitting the pretty red button... well theres no button, its a switch. and it will activate at WOT and deactivate if you arnt at WOT.

heres the Zex kit install i wrote up... good luck. http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130336

wet is safer because at you add nitrous, it will lean out your A/F ratio. Wet adds nitrous and fuel at the same time to keep it even. Everyone that i know that has run nitrous (74 bronco w/ 400, 99 ranger 3.0, 90 dodge spirit v6) prefers zex for EFI cars, and NX for non-efi
