Hey there guys and gals I'm currently a memeber of vwvortex but may fall into a deal with a '95 gst. My friend recently purchased a '95 gst with 95,000 miles for $500 OMG and a motor for $500 and it has 10,000 miles on it. He wants me to sell my car and buy this. When it is done he is selling it for $5,000 and my car is worth about 4 right now. He doesn't have a turbo for it but wants to buy an HKS turbo. He buys cars and makes them better performing then sells them. He will paint the car for me and buy a body kit for it he basically has $4,000 to blow and then sell it to me. He mainly wanted to do a GSX drivetrain swap. He said he can purchase a driveshaft, rear end and gsx tranny for cheap. Is this possible to do? does it bolt right up? I need some input thnx.

Hey bud where in NY do you stay

thanx guys for the replies maybe i'll tell him 4 and not to do the swap. with 10,000 miles should I be worried about putting a bigger turbo on it. Would building up the internals be smart or should the motor be fine?

Wants to put on an HKS turbo, holly $$$. You will find there are not very many dsm's running HKS turbos (probably because most owners are cheep as hell & want to go fast with the least amount of money :p ) If you do some reasearch of what your goals are you'll find alot of better/cheeper choices. 10K on the motor, it should be like brand new? if it checks out good, compression test etc, then don't worry about putting a larger turbo on (as long as you have the proper supporting mods) Building up the internals depends on what turbo & what boost you plan on running. If your looking in the ~20 psi range you should be fine (once again only if you have the proper supporting mods). If you plan on running 25+ psi you should look into internals. If your new to dsm's you'll be amazed how much power you can actually make on stock internals. Most other car owners crap their pants when I tell them I run 20 psi daily with no internal mods (well just added arp head studs, but Im being on the cautious side) & alot of other dsm guys run more boost then me
