Newbie needs help

i just purchaseda 1995 Mitshubishi Eclipse GS......what would be the first thing to do to my car that would up the Engine Performance......I'm new to this so plz provide a lot of information..thx

Your profile says GSX.. is that what you meant, or is it the N/A GS?

Look up in the menu click Tuning Guide then click Non turbo cars.. and poof u have all the answers...Thats why they spend countless hours collecting infromation for us so we dont have to ask questions when all the answers u seek are in the tuning guide. Ask a question if the tuning guide didnt answer it for u.

If you're brand new to the DSM world and you can't wait to start making some power, I would suggest you back up to the home page and scroll down to the "DSM Tuning Guide" (or click on that handy link). Follow the links to your generation and model. It lists popular early-on modifications (or stage one mods) and the proper order in which to make them so you can start enjoying the benefits of being a DSM owner. Benefits like a free education with hands-on experience everytime you break something.

If you're not in a rush, then I would suggest you visit the "General/Newbie Forum" and read until your head hurts. Click on each one of the "Read Me" posts at the top. I admit it's not as much fun as pushing the envelope of your new wheels. However, you'll save money, break fewer things, and ultimately be faster after reading what those who came before have learned the hard [and expensive] way. You'll also learn answers to many DSM newbie questions like:

What is crankwalk? Did you just make up a word?

What the %&*@ is that TICKING SOUND!? Why does nothing make it go away?

How come Laser owners are harder, better, faster, stronger?

According to my 1995 Mitsubishi drivers manual and the internet, i think he does have the 4G63 motor, without turbo of course, Correct me if I'm wrong but the only 2G model eclipses with the 420A motor were the RS model and the model GS had the 4G63, add a "T" and you have the same motor as the GS-T and GSX models. Before the RS model was introduced(pre-1995) the GS models were equipped with the 1.8L .

I don't know where the heck you got that from, but it's wrong. 95+ GS and RS models both had the Chrysler engine. The GSX and GS-T have the 4G63T.

Just lool at the top of the right rear of the car. What does it say? If the sticker has fallen off, which side of the car is you throttle body on

driver- rs/gs 420A engine
passenger- gst/gsx 4g63t

On the 95 models.. the RS's have black door handles and no side skirts. The GS's have color-matched handles and do have side skirts. GST's and GSX's have all of that, plus the bottom of each bumper/skirt have a dark grey trim (if it hasn't been repainted). That's for the cosmetics
EDIT: also, the non-turbos have only one tip on the stock exhaust, the turbs have two tips.
