New to dsms HELP!!!

Alright well i recently picked up a 1990 Talon tsi for $1500. On tha way home (200miles) It ran good and boosted at 12psi untill it over heated. we had to leave it over night at a gas station around 25 miles from my house. Well the next day i went and picked it up and found that the fans werent cutting on, so i drove with the ac on (it doesnt work but tha fans do) and that solved tha problem. then i found that it was getting really bad boost creep no matter wat gear im in. I kinda understand boost creep, but ive never heard anything about it on a nearly stock car. All the car has is turbo xs boost controller, boost gauge, evo manifold, apex TT, act 2600, hks uicp and ssq bov. He also gave me an evo o2 housing to put on it, but i havent gotten around to it. So wat do you guys think the problem is? would the new o2 housing help?

but in dsm's the fans only work with the heater or ac on..

So wait your saying that anybody who doesn't have heat or AC on, there car is overheating? Yea ok it doesn't work like that, do you know how many overheated DSMs there would be? Anyway try replacing the thermostat, its like $20 and its good maintenance anyway. About the boost creep, definetly try that EVO o2 housing, bigger is always better. Is there any room to port those? If so try it, it will help out a lot. I don't understand what would give you boost creep tho - the only exhaust related mod you have is the EVO mani, but since thats before the turbo, how would it cause boost creep. The EVO O2 should reduce or eliminate it tho. Good luck!

thanks for the info speedfreak, im gonna try that as well as take it to a shop cuz it also has a really bad oil leak, im thinkin its tha headgasket
