ok guys so im going to swap out the old pulleys for so new lighter ones so the engine turns them with less effort to free up a little horsepower ? is what ones? i have seen the set of four on ebay they are obx is this acceptable? anyone had problems with them? or is there a better kit for a decent price

Want to remove the the main pulley, being the harmonic balancer pulley, which keeps the crank from self destructing due to harmonic vibrations created by the power stroke of the pistons to a lighter solid pulley just to add one shaft horsepower to the output equation?

There's a lot better ways to increase HP than just changing out pulleys, esp the ones that are highly needed.

Think about it - good luck - DSM

Im pretty sure I know of at least 10 DSMs making ohhh say 400+ horsepower on stock pulleys, myself included.. No reason to waste money on such parts.

A couple guys I know who are up pretty far in the horsepower range (7, 8, 900 hp) make the switch to a fluidampr. Thats about it.

These pulley's you speak of are garbage. They actually do more harm then good. Google will give you some insight on this. Under drive pulleys have a lot of issues with under charging the charging system and making the alternator's go bad, and we already have issues with those from the factory.

agree with above post. dont change the pulleys. all they do is look pretty and thats it. i myself have dyno'd over 500 awhp and i use all factory pulleys. my best friend has 97gsx and puts down 600awhp and it too has stock pulleys. the underdrive crap is garbage for alot of reasons. do your homework and you'll find this out for sure. sometimes on certain things OEM is just always better and pulleys are one of these items. DSM's arent the only ones to stick to factory peices, theres big 'ol 7-800hp street driven supra's out there and guess what? they use factory toyota pulleys...
