New PB in the 1/8th, BWS366 Stock 6 bolt

Finally got my new setup tuned pretty decently and made some passes a the local 1/8th mile track. Unfortunately, in SoCal, there are no more 1/4 mile tracks within 100 miles. Drove the car almost 40 miles to the track (on street tires), made a new personal best pass, got kicked out for no cage and drove the car home. The car has an OEM shortblock in it that I paid $100 for about a year ago. No idea on hp numbers as I street tuned the car myself and have never been on a dyno.

First pass:
60' - 1.58 (New PB for street tires)
1/8 - 6.99
mph - 101

Second pass:
60' - 1.67 (spun a little)
1/8 - 6.80
mph - 108.9

I may have held the nitrous button down for a few seconds longer than usual on that 6.80 pass ;). Nitrous is a hell of a drug.. I really need to get off my ass and get a cage in this thing. I'm liking this Borg Warner turbo though, works pretty well. Boost was around 28-30psi, all mods in my profile are current.

Yeah no shit right? I definitely know it's probably going to die a horrible death very soon. I don't plan on running it in kill mode all the time, I have another forged motor in the works, I'm just hoping this one can hold me over until I finish it.

Good stuff! What version of the S366 is this? Just curious as there are so many available turbine housing and wheel configurations for those things.... LOL

Thanks. This one is a bullseye unit, or at least it has a bullseye tag riveted to the CHRA. I got it used from a buddy of mine so I don't know the exact details and I didn't open it up to measure anything, I was told it was a S366. It's in a divided .91 T4 turbine housing. If I remember right, the BEP S366 is a Borg Warner 91/79, but the compressor housing is different than an off the shelf 91/79 as there are no BW castings and it has a 2.5" outlet. Turbine housing looks like an off the shelf BW piece.

You will be fine, I've been running my stock engine for years.
 
Great numbers man! It's good to see some fast dsm's at irwindale. I'm actually planning on heading out very soon...debating if I should wait for slicks or just spin my fwd ass off. Also worried about towing it home if something breaks. I'll be on the sideline in the meantime :)

Thanks man! I like Irwindale and I'll be going back soon, I just gotta let off at the end because they were pretty pissed at me the last time. Yeah you probably want to get those slicks or you'll be spinning all the down the track with that hx40 LOL. Sticky tires are not friendly to those fwd axles, but should run pretty damn good on your setup.
