So I hit up the Irwindale Speedway last night for a little Thursday Night Thunder action. Got 3 runs in.

1st run: Was shit, bogged off the line, banged the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift, so I just let out of it 3/4 the way down the track. Ran a 7.7 @ bla bla bla.

2nd run:
1.700 - 60'
7.295 - 1/8th
79.92 - mph (on the brakes as a 7.25 gets you kicked out)

3rd run, I said f*ck it:
1.65 - 60'
6.97 - 1/8th
102.3 - mph

Needless to say, the timeslip guy wasn't too happy with me and promptly took my wristband away. It's about time I start considering getting a cage in this car.

Yeah, but you dont count...your 60fts are nasty, haha.

I went 6.79 @ 112 and only went 10.3 @ 143. 1.75 60ft tho... :barf:

Only! LOL

Shit man 143mph traps is making some damn good power. That thing must sink your ass into the seat on the back half :hellyeah:

Is that on your bolt on HX35? What are you shifting it at? Care to post your VE map?

Here's my current VE map. My AFR's are touching 12.2 - 12.4 at 35psi of boost (gas scale) on E85.

Honestly, the only difference that I noticed between a low-mid 130mph trapspeed, was that I was in 4th gear a lot longer. It didn't really feel all that fast, so i was surprised to see the trap speed. Usually, I barely get into boost in 4th gear and I'll go 135mph. I get sunk into my seat in 2nd gear, it seems to be the most violent to me.

I have an in-car vid in the video section or in my profile of the 143mph.

Go run the 1/4mi and join the 10 second club. Im pretty sure you're there. :rocks:

Nice work!!

Any street car that runs sub 7's in the 1/8th is fast, the only problem is then you start wanting to hit 6.50's and after that its 6's. Damn this insanely addictive hobby and its never ending goals:p

Cool, I'm going to check out those vids.

I'd love to join the 10 second club! I've been chasing it for months now, it pisses me off. It seems like every time I get to the 1/4 mile street legals, which isn't very often here in socal, the car has dumb little issues. Then when I'm bored on a Thursday night and drive my car to the local 1/8th mile track the car kicks ass..

There's a PSCA event going on this weekend and I can pay $50 to TNT tomorrow, so I've been thinking about going. I guess it will depend on how many beers I drink tonight LOL

If Dustin runs a 10 second E/T he'd be the only DSM in SoCal hitting those times out of the active community right now.

:dsm:

Don't forget about Mr. Hugo (boosting_laser). He's already went 10.7 with his a couple months back.

If the ve curve is any indication of the torque curve (which it should be) it really lays down on the big end. :( I don't think your average 5 speed car is gonna get in the 10's with a bolt on. That sucks, I was getting enthused about it, and theres a used housing on ebay for $200!

Shit. Call it four since Sam needs one now that I think about it, maybe he can do it? ROFL

:dsm:

If you get pre-fabbed cages make it five. And I will get mine shipped out here.

It does tend to plane off on the top end. Even more with the auto, it doesn't help that my #2 cylinder only has 100psi of compression either LOL

I think a five speed car could do 10's on with a bolt on housing. My car trapped 127mph twice when it was a 5 speed and that was on a 2.5" exhaust to boot. Just not a good 60' and a old slow shifting 5 speed. I'm going to pull the head here soon and fix the engine, probably get a sheet metal intake manifold and maybe some kelford cams at the same time I put on bolt on hx40. I'm expecting 130+ trap speeds pretty easily then.

Definitely a 10sec 1/4 mile pass. For comparison's sake, my best 1/8th in my car was 7.00@111mph. True street tires. That was a 10.56 pass. So unless the car hits a brick wall after the 1/8th, it should ET in the 10's. Go there and run the 10sec pass. Congrats.
