Hello to everbody in this forum. I'm new to all of this so from time to time I may ask a foolish question or two so bear with me. I just recently purchased a 1991 Talon TSi Turbo FWD for $7,600.00 Canadian and the Car was in MINT condition, never winter driven, always stored indoors, 100,000 kms., one owner (A Doctor) who always did the regular maintenance and anything else that needed to be done, and always a couple of good coats of Mother's Wax on her. She is in Pristine condition on the inside as well as under the hood, Pictures will follow soon so you can see for youself. What do you think? Also, I plan on doing some modifications, nothing outrageous but enough to put her around 250 HP. I'm thinking a mechanical boost gauge mounted on a single A Pillar Pod, a K & N High FLow Air Filter System to replace the whole stock can filter that is there now, and a new blow-off valve...Does this sound reasonable? That would do it for mods under the hood for now. The rest would be looks items like 17" Sniper Rims, and a neon purple ground effect kit.

Let's here those comments...I'm new to this stuff so all advise and help would be appreciated. ;)

I just bought a 95 eclipse non turbo five speed looking for input on bolt on performace head gasket issue so the motor is coming down sorry 2.0L dohc just looking for any thing to help first eclipse me and my girl love it quick even with a weak motor thanks for the info
and if someone could bring me up to speed on 1st gen or second gen sorry im a first time owner and to many people run off with out knowing so i turned to a forum with real owners

Well if you haven't done so, I would change the all the belts before you went and started to bolt on power.

Seriously though a 420a just won't cut it for speed. I'de do that head gasket and a new timing belt first thing though, before any bolt on's. Then think about intake and exhaust, but after that before doing cams and msd and all that little stuff that won't get you really anywhere, look at hahns race craft's 16g with portfueler, that would give you some acutal power to play with, and it's priced fairly.

hey guys i just purchased a 92 eagle talon tsi awd, and im just curious to hear some input. It has 62k original miles and about 250 on the new turbo. Im just curious if anyone could recommend some good plugs and wires maybe some other common replacement parts that might be good to swap. The only reason im being so broad is that i have no idea what and when things were replaced in the car and i just want to be thorough and keep her running strong :thumb:

(i did read the other posts that i could find but i would just like to be 100% on everything)

Nice find, first change all fluids, and belts, spark plugs wires and fuel pump, and fuel filter. thats a hella nice find, wish I could find one with that low of miles.

yea man nice find. i would just do the basic plugs, wires, fluids and filters. no need to do the fuel pump unless your going to mod it.

Would u reccomend any particular plugs and wires? And thanks i was suprised myself my brother actually told me that it was for sale :)

for plugs get NGK BPR6ES. for plug wires many people go with NGK's also. they are a good wire and are a good price. i bought a set last year and havent had any problems with spark since.

NGK BPR6es are a good stock plug, if you decide to boost high go with the NGK BPR7es its a cooler plug, NGK Wires are great aswell.
K&N Air Filter
Synthetic Engine Oil
Trans and Rear End Oils May need to be inspected
Keep an eye on the timing belt

congrats on the find. Even though its a little more work than basic maintinence i would recommend changing the timing belt unless you know it was already changed by the previous owner:thumb:

Hey!
Well, I'm going to pick up my 95 GSX today (after driving a saturn for the last few years, I can't wait!) I've done a TON of research on the car and found out a bunch of stuff by just looking at this forum the last couple of weeks, it sounds like you guys have so much fun with your cars.
I was just wondering if there is anything I should know ahead of time about the GSX (problems, things to look for, etc.) that anyone could fill me in on considering I'll be the only person I know around here with a gsx and DEFINATELY the only girl.
Any input would be great.
thanks!:)

Look for rust around the strut towers under the hood, make sure the timing belt and balance shelf belt has less then 60K miles on them since they were last changed. Read the link below. PM me if you need or want to know anything else. Welcome to tuners, don't forget to post some pictures of the car (and yourself if you want, but I like the cars, no offense)... Ciao

ROFL this coming from someone who is looking at buying their first dsm and obviously has no idea what he is talking about.

OP good luck with your dsm. They are a love hate relationship. I really hope you don't mind getting your hands dirty as they do require alot of maint. Just remember there is no need of putting money into go fast parts unless everything else is healthy about the car. There is so many resources about these cars online that you can find out just about anything you want on these cars.

And your first purchase should be the FSM.
