Agreed - switched is DEFINITELY the way to go.

I've actually got one of those LED washer nozzles on the top of my hatch (the twin LEDs up front was not something I was interested in) - even though it's white in output color, from certain angles, it can still look bluish. I put a secondary switch on it right-away, and I haven't been stopped yet.

here's a crazy thought... wire up that washer LED on the rear for a 3rd brake light. that would work. might even look decent. then it's not on all ther time

LOL, crazy indeed!

Stopped = lit, go = stealth.

Not a bad idea. :thumb:

yeah, it'd be different alright. not terrible all in all i don't think. but i guess i'd have to see it done first.

maybe you'd have to paint over the rest of the LED housing, paint it to match the car or something so that all you can see is the LED itself.

does someone of you know how difficult it would be to customize RX7 headlight conversions for the Eclipse with pop-ups?

that would be sweet because i hate my pop ups.Iive been looking for some light but never thought about using rx7 lights, good idea. I going to try to look for something like this, but i would try to look at some rx7 fourms on how they do the light conversion and than look at your car and see if they fit

I just thought maybe some of you guys had tried it in the past, because I'm here in Germany and it looks like I'm the only one who wants to get rid of his pop ups.
It's also a little more expensive for me than for you to get some of those lights conversions.

Was just a thought, it's just a pitty that i didn't find an RX7 headlight conversion kit with clear glasses yet, you know what i mean?
this one shown has two single lights without a glass over it. I'll keep searching

The Hella 90mm projector housings might be available in 9006/HB4 for you guys wanting to keep your 9006 HID kit but retrofit a projector beam in. The light cutoff would probably be better than the halogen reflector housings. Seems like I remember a guy doing this on a 2G a couple years ago and had decent results. IMHO HID retrofits arent worthwhile on most cars.

cars with factory-equipped HID all use D2S or D2R bulbs.

Just got my set... i'll post some high res pics for you guys in a couple of days. Some comments:

They look amazing compared to my damn clean 1g lights... I like them alot

They come with Phillips bulbs, don't have the amber bulbs at the center of the lights but do include the corner ones in amber so they will be legal. Mine included screws and plastic pieces to attach the corner lenses.

the lubrication from the molds for the lights has left them a bit slippery... be careful!

You may be able to just fit a 9005 bulb in the lowbeam spot without modification. The connector has a wider openeing in the center buy my 9005 bulbs are already modded. Because of that I question how securely the modded silverstar is sitting with how much I trimmed the top notch. It is kind of loose but not really. These are just spin in bulb holders like the corner lights (not like the metal clips on the OEM)

The corner light fights REALLY tight on my TSi. Hopefully I won't lose it because just from putthing it in the plastic cracked around the screw hole.

I got my lights from revotec at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8024944315&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

I'm having some problems with my rewire relay. For some reason the relay won't de energize and leaves the lights on after you turn them on. I know both of the relays I have tried are the proper style, but I'm so confused as to why this won't work. I have the turn on lead going to the passenger headlight wire which is severed to the headlight. I have the ouput leads going to the headlights (drivers side severed back into the OEM wiring also). Ground for the relay is hooked up to a severed connection to the OEM wiring, and both headlights are grounded on the frame. Can anyone see where I'm going wrong here?!

I just installed mine. I screwed up royally too. I broke both of the inner bolts for the headlights...and one of the fastening clips for the left corner light. Dammit!

Word to the wise:

1 -Be careful of rusty bolts.

2 -The corner lights are made of cheap, fragile plastic.

does anyone have any of their setups shined to a wall so we can see the beam pattern? i want HIDs but im afraid w/o a retro the light will scatter too much

ok..so i got hooked up with a 9006 hid kit on my stock 1g headlights. i highly recommend it, although the beam does scatter. but it lights up the road so much better

Bring this one back from the dead, anybody have any luck with the ebay clear headlights?? All the links in this thread no longer work.

Luck with? Finding? If that's what you mean, do an eBay search for "92 eclipse headlights".

I was wondering how there holding up, as in are they leaking or fogging up. I'v found a bunch of them on ebay, just not sure which ones to buy. Just trying to figure out which ones I should buy and how much I need to spend to get a decent set of headlights. I'd like to try to keep it under $250.

Ive had them on my talon since 05 and they are still just like new. This isnt a daily, so it doesnt see the winters. They have seen plenty of hot sunlight thoug and they are in great shape. I recently just threw in some SharpHid 6000 ballasts and bulbs. Even without projectors, they look great at night! You wont regret buying them, TRUST ME!:thumb: They make the car look ten times better up front.
