So I got 97 eclipse with a 420a, and my transmission is in need of replacement. Shop I took it down to said it's cheaper to just get a used one, since to rebuild it will cost $1200 (about $700 were in parts) . Now I've been doing research, and I know the 01+ neon tranny is an exact bolt up since it uses a hydraulic clutch compared to a cable. My question is, what kind of transmission would be better for the car? (Provided pics of different options) . Transmissions are not my forte, so any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Most of those options are Manual Transmissions, and unless I am missing something, the only two autos look to be more expensive than the shop's rebuild quote...

What exactly are you asking and/or looking for here?

Considering he mentioned a hydraulic clutch, I would guess his in manual and not auto.

Op, I'm not sure of the interchange.
