So you'd recommend staying away from the lightweight ones? The fluiddampr is definitely not cheap but is probably worth it. I honestly was just looking to make things look a little nicer really. I'm happy with what's on there which is a factory one it's just getting old.
I would recommend staying away from them but that's me. Too much risk.

+1 for using oem pulley over that light weight pulley. I am also planning to run a fluid dampner. Been laying in my shelf for 2 years now waiting to install.

I had a 5.9 gas dodge I bought with the stock pulley starting to separate. It was very obvious something was unbalanced and after I replaced the pulley all was good.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I'll keep the factory one on there. I'm trying to scoop up as much older school items if I can, and that pulley popped up for cheap so I bought it. But if it's not safe to run I won't run it. No big deal.

They’re fine to run. Honestly I have never personally witnessed a single 4G63 destroyed or suffer any kind of failure from running a lightweight crank pulley. It’s always a friends friend or a buddy that can’t be named. Or they ran 30lbs on stock injectors and blamed the crank pulley.

I say run it.

I’ve seen a hundred posts saying don’t do it. Never seen a single post saying “man this thing killed my engine here’s how and why and all the proof”.

It’s like Jacks Trans saying no balance shafts will destroy a transmission or cause crank walk.

It's definitely tempting for sure. I like to think alot of things through first. Maybe it wouldn't hurt since I'm running an auto and that tank of a converter sort of helps. I'm running no balance shafts which some people say is bad and some say it's fine. Which makes me think of the next part, if I take the oem pulley and replace it with a lightweight one where do the harmonics go now? There's just so many things to take into account, but I'm all for trying things out since I do it all myself. Maybe I'm just thinking to deep into it I'm not sure.
I also love taking peoples advice when given. Alot more people have way more years into these than I do so I appreciate all that comment.

I have seen a few documented cases through the years were there was play on the journals perpendicular to the axis of the length of the crank, I cannot recall the specific engines for these cases. But I believe at least one was a 4g63
It’s one of the reasons I personally do not use lightweight anything.

From memory these were for lightweight pulleys and flywheels paired together.

I am an absolute noob when it comes to trying to share a log of my car on here. I saved the capture in my downloads but how the frick do I get that to my phone? My wife has 10 billion windows open and I'm unable to sign into my email on there. Super super frustrating to say the least, I just wanted you guys to take a peak at it, my car would not start yesterday when it sat outside all night. It was very very cold.

Well the tuning is going to have to wait for awhile. I developed a weird metal on metal chirp I've never heard before. I'm hoping that it's the turbo and not the engine. It happened after sitting all winter. It'll only chirp for about 5 seconds and then it's gone so that's great. It's very concerning and definitely a bummer.

You sure it's not a pulley or the water pump or something like that? IDK why an engine would "chirp". It's usually a knock or tick. I've never heard a turbo chirp and even when I exploded an eBay 16G it didn't make a chirp noise or any noise. Lol. It just stopped working.

Does it sound like this at around 9-10 seconds?

Otherwise you're probably dealing with a dry accessory bearing, timing belt pulley, or maybe even alternator belt squeal. Most likely it isn't the turbo or anything internal to the engine.

I guess I just jumped straight to something that's oil related but you guys are right could be something else. I'm getting ptsd from my gmc that had a spun cam bearing and it sounds just like this but it never went away.
Funny thing is my starter is doing that exact same thing right now, it just happened over the winter. Do you guys think it could be a pulley? Everything on this engine is brand new but that's not to say it still couldn't be a new part.
I'll see if I can get a video of it.

Sure sounds similar. Here's the thread where I diagnosed/resolved my starter issue:

Yes that sound but it's not a squeal. The first start up after it was sitting all winter it was bad. That metal on metal chirp was going on for 5 minutes and then it went away. I really wish it was the belt but i may tighten it just a hair to rule it out, but yes my starter is doing that same thing also. It's that chirp in the beginning thats worrying me. It only makes that noise after it's been sitting all night it's super weird. I'm getting worried about it since it wasn't there this fall. Maybe it is the belt and I'm just getting paranoid. I'll look more into it tonight but man I'm worried.

Cut open your oil filter for peace of mind. I honestly think it will be clean.

I'm going to start with taking all the belts off and spinning things one by one to narrow it down. The only thing I changed was the turbo so that's why I quickly pointed at that. I'll also check the turbo to ill just triple check everything.

Wait so what are you using? I seen a brand new one online for like 40 bucks but I don't know if it's from China land or

I have a brand new Mitsu OEM 2G crank pulley if your interested.

Maybe I don't even want to know.

By the way I had the wife crank the car tonight and actually being under the hood it does sound more like a belt. I just get all worked up over nothing I just want it to be perfect is all.

Trust me bro, if anyone understands...it's me. Shit hits different when it's yours!

To confirm I did tighten the belts and my alternator one is maxed out but that chirp went away. I was getting all nervous for nothing.

I should of course replace my starter and do another oil change. My oil looks brand new still, no joke I've changed it probably 10 plus times out of the 3k miles I've put on it When it was in my talon.

I like to go by if it's not broke fix it anyways especially on these cars. I learned not to cut corners. Thanks again to the guys that were helping me out. Calmed me right down.

I've ordered 3 bags of so called "oem" clips for the door caps and they just are not right. The actual one on the right fits in the holes but the left one is not even close. They all break. I'm actually kind of annoyed paying over 20 bucks for "oem". I don't get it.

On the plus side I finally got the front bumper and my drivers side door handle installed.
The rest of my weekend is going to be super cleaning my garage, now that everything is back on the car.

The windshield is the last part to get replaced and then I think it's pretty darn close to being finished.
