hey people i decide to rebuild my motor and i wanted to ask for advice.. i live in sandiego and i dont know much about shops around here so i need advise on what route to go? im on a tight budget so i wanted to be not that expensive yet reliability and power.... i plan on buying a evo3 turbo once i get started... any idea?

Well look at the vendors here for kits it all depends on what you want to rebuild, evo is fine but. Like i said it depends on you, budget could mean anything, do you have a 6 bolt, the 4g63 is pretty damn good with stock parts. Your in cali, call road race their in the same state. I never saw a entire rebuild kit. Ive just got the parts i wanted from the autostore here or vendors but i found most of what i need at the automotive store, gaskets, bearings and such.

yea i have the 6bolt swap

im thinking of putting the 6bolt pistons and rods with acl racing bearings and sticking with stock valve springs and valves cams etc. im trying to get to the 350hp goal with stock internals... i have a evo3 turbo that has alot of shaft play so i plan on getting a new one... also got the wally 255 fuel pump, an 1g bov, 3inch turbo back exhaust system, stock side mount intercooler, boost gauge, oil press. gauge, coolant temp. gauge, stock 1g blue top injectors,...! tell me what you think...!!!

Javier-
I got your PM and read through your post and since you want my opinion here ya go...

If your building the bottom end a good budget build are 2g pistons/1g rods or you can even go Evo pistons/rods as well if you can find a good set.

Looking at your head build staying stock 350 whp is do able but why not spend $50 dollars and get a set of Evo VIII/IX valve springs and upgrade your valve train a bit. I can tell you one thing though, your road to 350 whp is going to be a LONG one on that Evo III 16g without aftermarket cams.

The wally 255 is good but you'll want to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (afpr) or else you'll over run your stocker and run retarded rich. You'll also need to upgrade to a FMIC and find a set of Evo 560cc injectors if your staying cheap.

By far the best thing I ever did to my 2g was get dsmlink to tune with. I know its a HUGE ding in the bank account but I can honestly say that dsmlink is BY FAR the best mod I've ever done. I wish I would have done it when my car was 100% stock to be honest with you... I suggest not going with an SAFC/logger setup to tune.

I'm not sure about evo3 rebuild kits, but a reputable T25/T28 rebuild kit is $80. If you just have shaft play, you should be able to rebuild it (bearings and seals). That could save a bunch compared to a new evo3 or other turbo. Anyone know much about rebuilding an evo3?
