Ok first ima say my car is a 93 Talon TSi FWD umm I have to have head work done so instead of paying 1500+ for a valvetrain rebuild i decided to get a Stage 1 DSM graveyard Head and it does not come with cam my question now is what type of mods do i need for 264/272 cams and a Slighty modded Head?

You dont necessarily need to do it but springs/retainers is always good to do when upgrading cams.

If those are going to be Kelford cams then you will need springs as you will be riding the fine line of valve float. Not all 264s etc are the same between manufactures. If that were the case then you wouldn't be seeing all these different brands.

I would skip the 264 and just go with dual 272s.

as a newbie.. what's the difference between the crower 264s and the 272s? higher lift? the only cams i know anything about are those of the Grand Prix GTPs (or any 3.8L S/C GM motor)..
