So I have a basically stock 98 GSX. I need a new fuel pump. Should I get one from Autozone? My friend has a Walbro 255 that he can give me for cheap which he never used.

My question is can I use the Walbro on a stock GSX? Wouldn't that be kind of overkill? Would I need a Fuel Pressure Regulator to run it? I've been searching and looking for my answer whether you can put a Walbro 255lph on a stock GSX but can't seem to find any threads about it.

If anyone could chime in here it would be very much appreciated.

I'm thinking of getting the STM Fuelab fpr and guage. How bout injectors? Do I need to get bigger ones? Let's say 550's?

It depends on what your Plans are.

If you are doing some Mods, Turbo ETC, ETC, ETC.

If you are not..... Then you don't need bigger Injectors.

If you decide to go bigger, Then you need something to tune, Like DSMLink, Saf or some sore of Management.
You can't run bigger injectors with out Tuning.

Alright. I'm going to get an Evo3 16g later. And thinking of fought 660'a with dsm link v3. With a FMIC. But thanks for answering. I should just be good with the FPR with walbro 255lph right?

Right. To run a 255 lph fuel pump properly all you need is an AFPR to prevent overrunning the factory regulator at idle and cruise. The injectors do not matter at all. I ran a Walbro 255 with an AFPR on my 4G63 N/T with 240cc injectors before I did the turbo swap.

No, you dont need larger injectors. You would need a tuning device to do that and to make your car run properly.

Alright. I think I got this. Just ordered the STM Fuelab FPR. I should be good for now until I upgrade my turbo or injectors.
