i think my stock fuel pump just went out on my 2g the car wont start but the starter is trying pretty hard. the reason i think its my fuel pump is because everytime i get gas once i leave i have to give the car alota gas or it will die. its been getting worse and worse and i think it finally just died. with this being the case does anyone know what kind of fuel pump i should get and where i could get it or if ## selling one the price... ect.

Before you go blowing money on a new/used fuel pump because your GUESSING whats wrong you should definitely troubleshoot it.

Check for spark at the spark plugs, check for fuel at the fuel rail, & check for boost leaks.

word checking for spark would mean pulling the plugs out and turning car over while plugs are on metal?

That would be correct. Pull one spark plug out at a time, connect the spark plug wire to it and the ground then electrode of the spark plug to the valve cover while someone turns over the motor.

To check fuel pull the line off the fuel rail coming from the fuel filter (passenger side of the fuel rail). Then grab a good sized cup (that you don't mind ruining of course) and while someone cranks the car over make sure fuel is making to the fuel rail. Gas comes out of the line fast if the fuel pumps working so be careful.
