ok i know there is a million and one threads but i don't have the time to search right now i am in need of good advice. This is my first dsm and put about ten grand into it within a couple months all mods are in profile and were done proper. I just finished up my some what build I went and got a macbook to tune with. Finally I got my car to start after much software updates with mac and many e mails from ecmtuning. The car started only after I turned on the fuel pump through link. I turned the car off and then turned off the pump and started it right back up. The car is idleing like shit and doesnt sound right at all. The only things I have done link is;
dialed in injectors pte 880cc
and mess with dash setting to put water temp on boost gauge

my car started to smoke so i shut it off after about a minute of running it. I dont know if the heat wrap would make the car smoke or not but thats off the topic. What I need help with is what would be the first things I should do before and or after start up. Like I said this is my first dsm, but I have learned so much through trial and error. I just want to get her running right and start tuning correctly. I haven't driven her in about a month and a half due to installing all parts in profile. I know people are going to say check the forums, but I do not have access to it. I am currently trying to set up a account because I did buy from them.

Any and all help is much appreciated. I really need to know what to do to get my car running right. I am even scared to start it and leave it running for more than a minute, but I wanted to make a log of the start up. I hope I saved it right and with some help I could upload it on here for people to tae a look at.

Ok I see fuel upgrades (w255,880's) but what about a afpr to ensure proper fuel pressure. As for the smoke with so many parts changed it could be anything. Did you use rtv or copper spray on anything this could be the cause of the smoke.

I'm sorry. Don't have my laptop on me to check your log. Can you take a look at what the current DTC are set? Also don't see if you switched to speed density/gm maf/oem 2g maf so I assume it's the 2g maf. What was the last mod before the car started to run as it is now?

Wonder it's a fresh purchase or a used purchase with someone else's tune. Wish I had my laptop on me. Leave it in my truck. Lol.

Where does the car smoke? Under the hood/out the exhaust? Possible the heat wrap or oil smudges on the manifolds burn off causing a bit of underhood smoke.

Does the car idle like an engine miss or sputter like a massive vac leak?

They make you make a log in and password for the forums before purchase if I remember right.

Start stream, stop stream, save as. Easiest place to find file is to save on desktop.

Ok I just started the car and made a log. I hope I did this right and you all can see the log I created. Idle is everywhere and so is everything else. I personally don't know what to look for. I don't know what to dial in and or change to make things right. I don't know if something is to high and or to low and don't know hat needs to be changed in order for the car to run right. This is only my second log and I only left the car on long enough to get some data logged for you al to see and hopefully point out things I NEED TO CHANGE AND OR ADD TO GET THINGS DIALED IN CORRECTLY FOR MY CAR TO RUN PROPERLY. please give feedback as soon as possible I am just sitting in my car now waiting for directions on what to do and how to do it. I can post my number and maybe i can get a call with directions?

ok here is a break down of the car.
I got it bone stock last august. the first mods were as followed.
intake
cat back
bov
boost gauge
dp
after those mods i went and did maintenance; timin belt, re built head, balance shaft belt, plugs gapped right, wires, alternator, oil changes regularly, new biss o ring,

since then i just began purchasing things to install when i got all the supporting mods for each purchase.

in the last month or so i purchased and installed;
dn performance tubular manifold custom fabricated to run external wastegate
tial type 38mm external wastegate
greddy bov (2)
a couple different fic kits. first didn't fit s i went with the greddy fmic kit long route
went through a series of buying turbos: super 20g (got ripped off it was knock off but with no play, still didn't go with it), s16g (got ripped off again it needed re build and i wanted more power), then i got a mhi 20g freshly rebuilt and stuck with it
pte 880cc injectors, got o ring kit for it
wally 255
adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge
aem analog uego sideband kit with gauge and sensor
dsmlink v3 lite package from dsmlink
water line kit for 20g (which didn't work)
ss oil feed line kit to ofh
5 qts of oil
oil treatment
engine treatment
oil filter
ofh o ring
oil pan gasket
valve cover gasket and plug seals
exhaust manifold gasket
turbo gaskets
throttle body gaskets
macbook to tune with
and a bunch of other misc things

all of the above mentioned were installed all before the first start within the let month or so. a lot of mods have been done.

here are a couple more logs to look at

update: I finally got the car to idle right. what i had to do was adjust the global fuel and dial in deadtime correctly. I used the calculate button and entered my injectors pet 880s which are actually 840cc/min. It told me to use global fuel −47.3% and deadtime as 420. So I did just that and nothing. I just kept going up on global fuel and ended up with −43.0% and the car idles fine now. well atlas I think it does. I got it set at 900rpm and it is around that number and doesn't go too high or too low like before.

I hope what I did was right and if it is not anyone can chime in and correct me and tell me the right way to do things. Here is the log I logged when I did the fix. I tried to get as much values asI thought needed. The only thing I know to look for is tsp volt to be at 0% at idle and idles. If anything is at all off and needs to be adjusted I would highly appreciate it if someone can tell me that it is off and needs adjusted. And if I can be told how to adjust it right would be even better.

Thanks to all that has helped me get the hang of tuning and all that will help in the near future.

I have read almost all of the wiki and watched all the videos. I am getting the hang of it but still need some tips and words of knowledge from all that is willing t help me with learning how to tune.

The best thing that helped me was reading and seat time behind the computer. Reviewing logs, learning as much as I could on how and why things work the way they do. What values to look for an how to get them into the proper ranges, the most important is to log values that will help you tune the most. This site and ecmlink forums helped me get it the most.
