Need help with clutch

Hey guys I was told my car has an evo3 engine in it and I was wondering if it's 6 or7 bolt and if there is a way I can tell and make sure which one it is with out pull off trans cause I would like to order the parts and not have my car out for over a week

any easy way to go about this with out making any mistakes is just dropping the transmission. im pretty sure the only thing that i have seen so far is the seven bolts have a water cooled oil filter housing. i know the seven bolt and six bolt oil filter housing are different and cant be swapped. personally I would drop the transmission. If you know what your doing it should only be a four hour job. If not i can lso refer your to threads or explain myself how to do it the easiest way.

How to quickly tell a 6bolt and 7bolt engine apart

I looked it up and in another thread it said that all the evo 1-3 engines were 7 bolt. The easiest way I know of is to check the oil pan. Also if you have a 7bolt your engines crank angle sensor (cas) will not be external like a 6 bolts is.
Come to think of it, the blown up 7 bolt I was robbing parts off of didn't say 'eci multi' on the intake manifold. That is probably the easiest way to tell.

Yes, Evo 1-3 engines are 7-bolt 4g63's. They are nearly identical to 2g 4g63 engine block. So if your looking for a clutch, use those available for 2g 4g63 DSM's.

Thanks for the help and replacing the clutch wouldn't be time consuming it would be waiting for te clutch to come in
