Hi. I'm 16 years old and I have found a 1994 Mitsu. Eclipse GSX. It was sitting in someones yard for 2 years. So I took it upon my self to buy it for $300. I need to know what are some of the things I need to do in order to have it run properly (what parts I should look at and replace). Any help would be useful.
Thanks :dsm:

Does it start? Hows the compression (http://www.dsmgrrrl.com/FAQs/compression.htm)? If it checks out then you got a hell of a deal, especially if the trans is in good shape. Do the basics, all fluids (oil, tranny, rear diff, xfer case, brake, clutch, coolant flush, etc), then just a really good tune up (plugs (NGK BPR6ES only!!), wires, t-stat, rad cap, fuel filter (in case of any old fuel still in there), etc). But try starting it (try push starting it if it wont start normally, put it in first with the clutch in, start rolling and slowly let out the clutch, it should start) first so you dont blow all this time/money on it. If your sure the engines in good shape then a t-belt job would be a good idea, t-belts like to jump and snap on DSMs for some reason! Good luck with it and let us know what problems you have!
