Hi guys! I need help knowing what kind of turbo I have and what kind of turbo I have bought and which one should I put back in the car?

-The purple one was the Turbo i had on the car. Previous owner does not know what the turbo or the manifold is called as it was not he who replaced it. I can see that it say’s Air. 42 on it and then on the tag it say’s Turbocharger/ (34353224) I think that’s right numbers.

-The other one is the “Silver” one with the TR0759 on it and then it has a tag where it has different numbers on it. I recently bought it from a guy who said it's an FP28Big turbo with Evo 3 manifold that is ported i think he said. He said it's a bolt on thing but when I look now it's not a bolt on thing I would need to change the downpipe to fit the “28BIG T”.

That purple one is a $92 ebay special. The silver one is a big t28 according to the part number on the tag. Google the number. It does have a different compressor housing, probably off a nissan turbo. The dsm housing it would have came with should have an elbow on the outlet.

Hi Purevil! Thanks for the answer. I did search on Google but didn’t find anything:/ but my question now is what would you go for and what would you do you? What do i need to buy to make the T28 fit? I will look if I got the dsm housing with the elbow in the outlet. Do you have any pics on that, I would appreciate it very much and again thank you very much!

Your down pipe may fit depending on what o2 elbow was on the purple turbo (v-band, vs 2 bolt flange). If it does not bolt up, any stock replacement down pipe should fit your "new" Mitsubishi setup. I say should because the Evo3 o2 housing has a slightly different angle to it over a stock dsm one. On my 2g this required me to do a bit of denting (ie - hammer smashes) on my downpipe in order to make it work.

Outside of the down pipe issue - be aware that your purple turbo was not water cooled, and did not have coolant fittings like the "new" mitsubishi one has - so be aware you need to run coolant lines to the new turbo. (Those are the two hard lines coming off of your turbo)

Your oil return line will be different as well, but you can use a stock one. Some turbos did have a wider spread on the bolt holes (such as a evo3 16g) going to the drain, but this is an easy modification if needed.

As for the oil feed line (the top line) most likely your purple turbo had an aftermarket braided feed line. This will work, but may require a fitting to connect to the mitsu turbo. These are cheap, and easily purchased online - hell you can even get them off amazon prime if you are in a hurry.

Hope this helps.

My t28 had a cracked exhaust housing and bad wastegate. I ordered new genuine garrett parts from atp turbo. If you send them the part number, they should be able to get you a new comp housing.

First pic is my downpipe that i have right now and the last pic is where my downpipe was connected to my old turbo… but as you can see in pic 2 and 3 I have 2 different o2 elbow outlet which I do not know which one to choose between yet and this is why I say my setup might not work cause I do not know if they will matchup to the downpipe:/
