What is this and where does it mount? It is currently just hanging with no logical place to mount it

There's a bolt hole right next to the hole in the bracket for it to mount to. Looks like a brake line or trans line

That would be an accumulator for the clutch master-to-slave line as pictured below:

This is commonly replaced when members refer to a SS clutch line like pictured below:

That line completely removed my questionable part?

Does it matter that I have a 1g swapped into a 2g?

Here are some directions for install so you can see what is removed:

There is also a line that will replace the entire line to master cylinder, but is not necessary. This will hold true whether you have a 6-bolt or 7-bolt motor.

It's the clutch accumulator, run a braided like from the master to slave and junk the accumulator.
