i bought all new internals for my 95 gsx and the engine is almost completly put back together when i noticed that their is an empty space on the passenger side of the cylinder head on the opposite side of the cam""TOP LEFT"".. i bought the car from some dumbass that tried parting it out and selling it when i came along and bought it for a project car. not all the parts were their and i looked at many diagrams and cannot figure out what is supposed to be their for the life of me any help??

Its where the Cam angle sensor goes, but because yours is a 95 then there will be a rubber plug that goes there because your cam angle sensor is underneath the intake cam gear.

He's got it correct, both of those should be plugged if you have a 95-96 cam angle sensor. Save yourself the hassle and upgrade to the 1g cas, so you can get ride of the crank position sensor.

If that is the area you are looking at, there will be a plug there like stated above. However, I could not find the mitsu part number for it and a BS plug is slightly too small. Here is reference pic I took for you if you'd like to remain stock. But like suggested as well a 1g cas swap is a good way to go!

Internals may remain the same with a CAS swap. Check out the link posted up top it shows step by step how to install a 1g CAS on a 2g. If you do not want to make your own harness there are people/vendors who do sell them pre-made.

The benefits out weigh the effort by far. A 1g cas makes base timing adjustable, and it eliminates two pain in the butt sensors in the process.
