Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me what would be the best alternative to replace my OEM coolant hoses with?
I looked at some aftermarket silicone ones, but I'm not sure if they'll fit my non turbo 1G.

Mishimoto:

HPS:

Checked the OEM serial numbers for my D22A model compared to D27A, the radiator & upper hose have the same number, but the lower hose is MB356993 vs MB605486.
My worry is that it might not be a direct fit. Has anyone tried any of these on a non turbo 1G?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to update the thread, as I decided on getting the Mishimoto hoses. I'm happy to report that they fit my non turbo DSM perfectly!
So for anyone with a non turbo car that was wondering the same as me, we now have a 100% confirmation for the compatibility.

I’d imagine the non-turbo lower hose is just slightly more direct from the radiator to the water pipe as it doesn’t need to dodge any of the turbo bits. I would expect a turbo hose would work fine on a non-turbo.

Yeah, it most likely has something to do with the turbo, but how similar are the transmissions at the top part of the hose?
Mine has some shift levers right next to the hose. I remember test fitting a random hose from a junkyard in good condition, which fit well, but rubbed against those levers a little bit, so I decided against it.

This is how my coolant pipe and hose look, you can see how close the levers are:

Practically identical. For respective years, a 2.0L non-turbo uses the same shift cables and shift levers as the turbo models. So that geometry must be in pretty well the same spot.
