I jst traded my 98 eclipse 420a for a 95 talon tsiAWD with some minor problems.. im so happy to own one of these things! I need to fix an exhaust leak, turbos out, and some starter problem. its weird. i try and start the car and it wants to but jst stays studdering like its lacking fuel or spark. but wen i turn the key to off i can hear the starter tryn to spark up so i need to remove the battery cable to stop it. over all im very pleased with my new bby!:talon:

you might wanna check the spark plug wire numbers they might be in the wrong firing order and that might eliminate the studdering at least. The turbo might be out because the exhaust leak is either the turbo being bad but you wouldn't be seeing smoke if the turbos out from that so the head gasket could be bad which means costly or check the compression or rings could be bad that's all I can think of right now but then again it's 3:07am here good luck let me know if the wire thing helped

well i only hear the turbo ticking when i see the boost gauge go up.! if im light on the gas i wont hear it..

well get some pics of the engine and what not

do your maintenance first
change the oil and filter (GOOD OIL-GOOD FILTER)
change the trans fluid
change the t-case fluid
change the rear diff fluid
change the spark plugs and wires and check the coil pack
change the air cleaner
check the brake fluid if not change it(SHOULD CHANGE IT)
change the clutch fluid(its just brake fluid)
change the belts
check the timing belt(change if you dont know how many miles are on it you dont want a broken one)
DO A COMPRESSION CHECK
take the inlet to the turbo off check the in and out play and up and down
change and flush your coolant
change thermostat
check all hoses
i know i am missing alot here its just commen sense to go over the car be for you start modding or beating on it

if them wires where crossed id deffly get new plugs and wires right a way they ant that expensive

got my starter fixed and have the oil ready.
dang its suprising how difficult it is to work on these cars compared to my 420a. well its my first time. i have my exhaust manifold n turbo off so i could fix the exhaust leak. ima finish putting it back up tmrw asoon as i wake up. and thanks to everyone giving some feed back!:D

You will get used to working on it... its actually much easier than most newer cars. You will eventually learn what to remove first to make your life easier (battery, intake etc.)
