well it all started in April when i got my 99 gsx for 3000k no motor real nice body n fully suspension fuel pump trans ect. so i had my 6 bolt that i got in Nov that i got for $150 and i took it apart and they had it rebuilt so i thought my luck was all good. well it wasn't. i dropped the motor in and that took a week. and went to start it up and it starts and dies. took a month and half to find that i had too small injectors in it. so i got it drivable and took it to my friends house to do the body work and the turbo went out. then i got a new one and it came with some free goodies. a fuel rail and a j pipe. well then i thought ok well this should be the end of these problems. nope then i was driving and the ball joint broke. messed up my fender. wow. so got a new control arm and took it to work and painted. so after i got it painted took it out. turned on the lights no parking lights. found out fuses box was rusty no connections with fuse. fixed that and then the leaks came. with out knowing drove the car 2 weeks with low low oil. then i went to change it and came out like a quart. of it. WTF. so i found the leak oil filter housing and oil return. fixed that and the lifters started to tick or i thought it was them but nope. changed the lifters with a set of 3gs. the ticking was still there. so now i guess the rod bearings are shot so tommarrow going to change them and get a new car or keep the gsx. what do u guys think.

Things will always get worse before they get better. Hang in there man! :)

at this point theres alot of time and money and frustration in it. you'll be mad if you sell it or trade it in, someone does a few little things to get it running, and it RIPS...

You will love that car once you get all the bugs out of it believe me when you start out from the nothing and work your way up to having it run perfect you will not only love it you will respect it. Sometimes the journey is the best part of it all.

I just did a full restore of a 98 GSX that was on fire.. first time i turned the key it stared right up and boy...what a feeling that was! 600 miles i spun a rod bearing and it was the sadest moment ever. I got i up and running again a week later. Fixing is just as much as owning.. Thats what DSMing is all about. Fixing, Driving, Breaking..LOL I enjoy all of them.

soo after droping the pan i looked at the bearings they look like they melted. the oil hole had melt in it so no oil came there and they were gone. and the main too they where black and blue on the other side and cracked

Youll get it dude i just purchased a 1998 gsx and love it so far the only problem i have had was the guy that had it before had a cheap coil over suspension on it and all the springs were broke and the struts were blown out and i could find a lug nut key for it anywhere and now my throttle positioning sensor is bad getting that replaced tonight and well see what happens. I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!

Make it perfect,
sounds like you havent had a chance to even enjoy the car.
If it breaks after you had time to enjoy it, then maybe sell it.
