Alright, it's about time for an update. Last time I posted, I was eagerly awaiting the return of parts from the machine shop. Well, half of them are back. The garage recieved the block back and it was one happy moment for me. That just means it won't be TOO much longer.

Not the best of shots, but I was in a hurry. The crank was wraped up and sitting on the skid below. Here is my empty bay.

After so long and the work is finally coming together is making me so happy. I know that I'm not personally doing it like some of you have, but I don't have the tools, space or knowladge to do it.

Here are a few more pics for your viewing pleasure.

I'll also be having Manley springs and retains installed along with Delta Camshaft 272s.

There was one hitch though with all of this and it was my clutch. The clutch in question is the Fidanza 4.3 which was installed on the first rebuild. I have roughly 3 weeks driving time on it and 2 ceramic pucks broke. 1 on each side of the clutch face.

I contacted Fidanza ealier through email and hopefully :crosses fingers: I can get something resolved through them instead of buying a new clutch again.

I'll update again once the head is done getting the stud holes bored out to use the 12mm 6 bolt studs and once the block is being assembled. Everything in use is OEM except the water pump (Topline). ARP mains, Kiggly main girdle, ARP L19 head studs, OEM MLS head gasket and he is using OEM bearings.

Decided that along with my rebuild, I'm going to be redoing my homegrown exhaust (which went to crap:p). I ordered a Megan Racing downpipe from one of our vendors (Thank you again) and a Magnaflow muffler (Part #12867) as well.

I'm going to be reusing most of my current parts from when I built my exhaust which includes 2 resonators, high flow cat and Magnaflow part #12298. I'll be having the shop do the work which will include chopping the MRDP to weld in the cat. and put on a v-band at the end. The catback will consist of the 5in round muffler, the 2 resonators then the dual outlet exhaust. Shouldn't need much straight pipe being AWD. I'll have the muffler painted black with polished tips.

Hopefully this will drasticly reduce the noise and maybe get rid of the 3k drone (if not lower the dB of it). I want the performance 100% but with a lot less noise for comfort reasons. I also got 272 Delta cams to throw in and Manley springs & retainers so I can be safer with my build and have the extra power/rpm range when I throw on the HX40.

I also got a new oil filter housing (OFH) and decided to go with the water cooled housing. Since I have my balance shafts removed, I went and ported the oil relief valve as well as stated in the previous entry. Here is the picture of the final product.

Will do! I know I will need help once I put on ECMLink. I don't know, but do you and/or your brother have a welder/weld? I'm deciding on doing a whole new exhaust setup using a MR downpipe and then a custom cat back.

I'm just going the Megan Racing DP with my current highflow cat welded in. V-Band the pipe after the cat, weld in a new Magnaflow 5" round muffler, use my 2 current resonators and reuse my current Magnaflow 3"/dual 3" muffler. Should be pretty quiet and seems similar to one of the setups on an exhaust thread.
Just having the speed shop do it.
I've been wanting a welder for a while as well. Lowes has a decent TIG (I think) for around $600.

looking good.... I had the same problem with my clutch disk. I had a 6 puck F1 racing and it didnt even last me a year:notgood:... I put the stock one back but i think im gonna go with the ACT clutch next time. Good luck with the build:thumb:

Thanks shredwin! I'm awaiting response from Fidanza and *should* hear something Monday or Tuesday. Already sent the clutch and pressure plate back to them.

I added some updates to this post and will start a new one within a few weeks when the head get back and parts start to be assembled.
