My Speedo doesnt work??!!!

I just got a new engine put into my 1993 eagle talon tsi. Its an automatic and the speedo does not work. Does anyone know if this is easy to fix or do I have to bring it into a tranny shop? Any info would be much appreciated.

I think that year has a speedo cable from tranny to speedo. Check its connections and condition.

yea its the cable, their common in dsms to come unconnected.

Its either the speedo sensor in the tranny, the cable, the gauge, or one of the connections.

take out your cluster.
you will see a hole with the speedo cable end sticking out.

roll the car forward, see if the cable spins.
if not, its broke someplace in the middle.

if so, your guage is faulty.


but if you just tranny swapped, id say you didnt get it tightened enough on the tranny.
