Well guys, the fixing of the eclipse has begun (about a month or so ago). I figured I would make a thread to let everyone know what I have been up to. After hitting the deer back in january I bought my talon instead of fixing the eclipse. Well, after all these months, the talon can't fill the shoes of the eclipse and I am selling it and fixing the eclipse with the money. I have too much love, history, and memories with the eclipse that I can't just let her sit and rot. Here are some pics of the before, after, and progress I have made getting her back on her feet. I am waiting for body parts to come in and then she will go to the body shop to get straightened out.

Thought it was going to be a parts car:

But couldn't do that to her, removed A/C and P/S since components were damaged:

Also another update, I hooked up the battery and started her up for about 10-15 sec to get some oil circulating. Took a few cranks, but she eventually came. It was an awesome thing to be able to start her again after 6 months of sitting. No oil leaks either were seen from the back of the block so I did a good job this time with the oil lines haha.

Just waiting on some parts from Paul and the engine bay should be done and just about ready to go to the bodyshop for straightening. Going with a 95-96 front end this time around and another FMIC about the same size as was on there previously. Hopefully another 2 weeks or so and I can be driving her again, I can't wait! Comments and critizism welcome!

When you hit that deer, you didn't have front core support because of the intercooler right?

That would be a 10-4 Rand, fmic too big for it. I am kind of glad I didn't have it in there though because there might have been more damage to it because the core support may have shifted back and messed up what holds it in there.

If you go with a 95-96 bumper don't you have to change headlights?

pick up a 2gb bumber on ebay, mine looks great, and was inexpensive.

Affirmative.

Looks good, Mike. I especially like that down pipe. It's one of the few that I've seen where the pipe connects to the flange at a 90* angle. Is that 2.5" piping? Autosquare manifold?

Yes I do, but my 97-99 headlights were damaged from the deer as well and Paul is giving me a great deal on his old 95-96 headlights so I will go with that style for now. I'm sure I will upgrade to 97-99 down the road again, but I just want the car to be going right now.

Yeppers Paul, 2.5" piping made by our buddy DSMCrazy3. And yes, it's an Autosquare manifold. Has held up great so far (8 months), no signs of wear or damage.

I only spent about 5-10 min grinding on it with a crappy disc so I could have done a better job, but I am happy with it right now. I plan on doing a 3 in. one down the road anyways with the wastegate dumping back into the exhaust so that one I will spend more time with.

Oh ok, I see now... the welds are crappy, Mike just fixed them with a grinder.

I'd be careful about telling people that was the first downpipe you've made... they'll think your work is going downhill.

:)

Well today it seemed like christmas here at my household. Got 3 packages in today for the eclipse. Here are some pics of what I got:

Tsudo 3" Catback exhaust

Well I am really excited to be able to throw all this stuff on. It's almost ready to be towed to the body shop to get the front straightened. Just need to install my speed sensor and reinstall the battery, intake piping, etc. and it's ready! Questions, comments, critizism welcome :)

Damn that exhaust looks nice i wish i woulda got the 3" Tsudo but i have the 2.5" LOL but i remember how nice and shiny it looked when it came in the mail and that FMIC is massive! good luck

My only comment is.......what are you doing in minnesota, and how could you leave dsmcrazy in humble all by himself, after all the work he's done for you.....he might actually go crazy without things to weld on your car.

UPDATE

OK guys, car is going to be DRIVEN to the bodyshop today :D

Hopefully I will have it all back after fixing the bodywork and alignment, etc. mid next week. I'm pretty excited to get it all finished up. Turbo isn't all hooked up yet because I can't mount up the FMIC yet, so it just has the short ram intake part hooked up. Here are some of the pics I just snapped before the driving it:

Hey, is that a real Sparco steering wheel? Where from, and how much?

I've been looking into one of those after deciding that I hate it when my knees hit the stock wheel.

Yep, just got it in today. It's a Sparco "Ring" Steering Wheel in all black-suede. Got it from a sparco dealer on eBay for $229 shipped. The seller's name was Synergy Motors:

You will have plenty of leg room with this wheel, it's tiny haha. You still need a hub though, they just sell the wheel. I got mine for about 60 shipped from another guy on eBay.
