So I figured I'd start a thread on the repairs I'm doing to my talon! I bought the car two weeks ago on a Friday in Daytona beach Fla. and drive it 6 hrs back to Atlanta! 6 days later it decides not to start one night when I got ready to leave work! after some testing, it jumped timing upon start up! So, off comes the head to inspect the valves and new timing gear was ordered! Hopefully I'll get the head back from the machine shop tomorrow so I can put my machine back together!

Here are a few pics of what my machine looks like assembled! And the face of an excited new DSM owner, I had no idea I would be tearing the engine apart 6 days into ownership!

That really sucks man..I hope to see a good bill of health for your car soon..

Yeah it was a slap in the face. I mean, I owned the car for less than a week the it died on me!! The head was actually fine, just wanted to pull it and be sure that the valves were good to go. I had new lifters installed to eliminate the idle ticking but other than that it's just cleaned up and decked. I hope to get her all back together soon! I need to hear my blow off valve!! I'm having withdrawals!

Glad to see you got your car up and running. Nothing better than a saved DSM.

But FYI, the mods frown on build threads cluttering up the forums and usually delete them. Turn this into a journal/blog and everyone will be happy.
