My Car Has Become the Ultimate Sleeper

I don't want to get into the details, because my level of stupidity is very high, but I got in an accident a few months ago. Thankfully, the rear of the car is what took the damage, so there was no noticeable mechanical damage except for the washer fluid resevoir.

Anyway, the proper bumper (Among other rear Talon pieces) was hard to find. The bumper for an ESi was put on my TSi AWD. Now every Honda under the sun tries to race me. I have had 5 people try race me in the past 2 weeks. Before, I had maybe one or two attempts over the course of 8 months. I don't even humor them most of the time. I did rape this one Celica who kept pressuring me several miles down the same road. I just went up to 50 from a light and shut down (45MPH speed limit) to make him leave me alone.

Damn man Im in md too and I NEVER get a race. No matter what I do nobody will race me. I dont have my gst badging so I think thats whats keeping them away. I dont want to spend money on a gs sticker just so I race, but my car looks and sounds like n/t nop front mount and my after market exhaust looks like a n/t with a tip on it. Oh well lucky you dont enjoy it too much.

It's not that I don't enjoy racing, but it just isn't feasible most of the time. One, I have a couple of speeding tickets already. Two, the volume of traffic where I am (Montgomery County near DC) is ridiculous. Three, most of the people who try to race me aren't even worth it. Why should I risk getting a ticket to beat a Honda Civic with intake & exhaust? In those situations, I will sometimes run up to about 5-10 over just to get them off my back. I run past them so far at 50MPH that it is obvious who would win.

I am building a sleeper gst....and I usually dont give hondas the time of day either. one night we made a beer run and ran up on an integra...nothin to set this one apart from the 100 other integras you see on any random beer run!

He shot some revs over at a stoplight....I let him rev. when the light turned green he floors it jumps up and takes off....it impressed me! Caught him at the next stop light....rolled down the window and asked if he would like to try that again. once again green light, we both jump up and took off. smoked him off the line but he began to pull about 3/4 of the way to the next light. asked if he wanted to go out and race legit.....he was in a hurry to get somewhere! isn't that how the good ones always turn out? Not your average integra t3/t4 turbo kit on that bad boy, but I don't think he had it tuned in just yet. Needless to say it gave us something good to bull@#$@ about while we got plastered~!!!

It's funny that you say that story about the race on the way to get beer. The first attempt to race me came from a modded Accord on the way back from our local 2-3AM liquor store. Funny worthless coincidence...

Actually I'm pretty sure I did see your car... I have seen a couple of black Eclipse's recently, including one on 270. I'm not sure if it was a GSX though...

Damn I used to live off georgia ave...up in olney. I sometimes work down in fairfax va so I take 270 to 495 so I travel those roads from 28 down...Im suprised Ive never seen either one of you.

Sleepers are great! once i get my turbo ill be set in the sleeper catagory. no fast and the furious big combat wings, body kits, vynals, or 20" rims with the bumper sitting an inch off the ground. Its gonna be stock rims, stock springs, stock wing, stock bumpers, with a not so stock engine... ha ha ha...:laugh: this will all eventually happen, but hasnt yet, got some saving to do. The only thing that makes it look not stock is my 4" tail pipe and that incredibly loud deep tone coming from my exaust. otherwise, thats all thats gonna show

Make sure that you get a sidemount intercooler as well. A front mount is a dead giveaway that you have a big fat turbo in there. Stock sidemount all the way!

Very good point. but do u think that losing the performance of having a front mount is worth the sleeper status? IM not sure. i think that when i get my turbo, im prolly not going to get an intercooler at first, just a stage one. by the time i get a stage 2, i might go front mount because there might not be any fun in the sleeper anymore, every civic will just be too easy. not that they arnt now, but they will be even easier. I dunno... this is a tough one. ill have to see how i feel when its time for the stage 2...

If you are using the GS motor, most likely you won't be able to push enough boost to warrant a front mount anyway. The stock sidemount on a 2G seems to work pretty well for me at 17PSI (I estimate about 300bhp) with a FP Big28. A supra sidemount should get you into the 20-25PSI range and you could probably make around 400bhp according to what I have read on these forums.

I'm running a Supra side mount and and trying to keep the some what sleeper look. I had to go with the 19" rims though they just make the car look so good.

I don't think rims ruin the sleeper look on a car, nor does an exhaust. A lot of people just have basic mods like a body kit, rims, intake, and exhaust. Just as long as you don't have any tell tale signs like a FMIC and turbo labels/badges.

DE tags huh. You ever around DE, your location says MD. Ive seen just about every DSM in delaware, i think

I think the rims look bomb as hell too. i was looking at some 18's. but then i decided that that $600 could be used towards a turbo so i decided to keep my stock rims. they arnt that bad. i might get lowering springs too because i hate the big gap between the tire and the wheel well, but nothing to crazy. the only visible mods will be the exaust and maybe some springs. when i slap the snail on there, it will be one sweet sleeping 420a!

most custom exhaust shops can build you a catback that will turn down right before your stock muffler....I don't think you can run a muffler under there but you can definatly fit a tube style silencer. I think that is what I am going to run with. my big 28 is still on stock exhaust:thumbdown

Wait... so your stock muffler will be sitting there but wont be connected to anything and your piping from your cat will end right before the muffler? ive never heard of that before...

Damn, talk about a sleeper. That is an awesome idea. My friend has something like that on his Grand National. There is something he can do to open up the exhaust right at the downpipe. This way he passes inspection and such no problem, but he can have an open exhaust if he wants to use it.
