I bought a 97 gsx and am trying to figure out what all it has and where to go with it. It does have a 6 bolt oil pan and it also has a 6 bolt intake manifold with spliced harness. Has rc injectors, 272 cams. I need to clean up the vacuum lines and the harness because it wasn't a clean swap but it runs good. Pulled 345 on the dyno. My concern is finding out what ecu and management it is running. it is running without a maf is there a way to tell if it has anything done to the ecu or if it stock?

In place of the stock eprom with dsmlink will be a red chip if its v3. ECMTuning, Inc.

EDIT: Probably gm maf,Which is most commonly added when switching to speed density.Not to be confused (by me) for a sd conversion just because its a gm maf.There I feel better rewording that.

Injector sizing should be on either side of the injector. Hard to see under the rail sumtimes,but you will find it.

I have maf right now but im planning to swith. What would be better (I knoe its really a matter of oppinion but) gm maft or sd?

IMO definitely NOT a MAFT!!! I don't like the GM MAF in blow through either.

I've been very pleased with my GM MAF in draw through (before turbo) and using ECMLink MAF cable. Very stable tune and just as consistent as the 2g MAS I used to run.

However, I will switch to SD one day to get rid of the pre-turbo restriction.

No maf Should mean its on speed density with a gm maf in the boost piping.

Wow.....

He has a 2g. And speed density doesn't use a maf at all. It uses a map sensor and air temp sensor to monitor airflow.
