My brother bought this car last month some dopehead owned it before him an left it at some girls house she an her friend were ganna burn it so he bought it for $150 were not sure wats wrong we know the timing belt is off was just wandering ### do yall think how bad could it be

Not a bad find at all for $150. Do that timing belt,tensioners and all the other good stuff for starters and let us know from there.

get her cleaned up and tore down, see how the engine is, go from there bit by bit.

Well, I bet the belt broke. Your going to need a motor mount. new belts.

Pull the head to see if the valves are bent/broke.

also that is a 1GA so its a 1990-1991 not a 92. 1GB came with a different front end.

my bad I didn't know i put 1992 the car is a 1990 tsi awd its my brothers car and my car is a 1992 tsi awd 6/4 bolt

Definately pull the head, take it to a shop or check the valves yourself, put on a new hydraulic tensioner, new belts, and a little tune-up and you should be set. Look on the bright side, it is stock and you got one heck of a deal.

Great deal for $150. Its like buying a just a shell, but you got a motor that with if your lucky with some work it will be running again. Should be a fun experience and def. keep us posted.
